Breathing for Jesus
My food went down the wrong way one day whereby I found myself alone with my beloved ministry dogs in my hotel room panicked and desperately gasping for air as though my very life depended on it which it did. Something wild happened in the midst of it. I cried out to the Lord to save my life and realized what I told Him in those desperate moments reveals how much He has changed me over the years not to mention bears a message for us all.
I begged Him to help me breathe and to save my life so I could keep telling the world about Him. Friend, for decades I lived for me, me, me. It was all about me. Now I live for Jesus. It’s all about Him. I live – and breathe – for Christ. To love and worship God forever and to be on the road full-time with my handicapped ministry dogs helping people through the written and spoken word to find and forever faithfully follow Jesus.
Rest assured if I had wanted the Lord to save my life in the past, it would have been so I could have continued to live to satisfy myself and for the fleeting pleasures of this life rather than to love Him with all my heart and to love others as myself as He commands us to do in His two greatest commands and to help and encourage others to faithfully and devotedly follow Him.
God has transformed me over the years from a totally self-centered lost and broken hopeless and purposeless woman to a woman totally sold out to Jesus. I pray I will use every breath He gives me on this earth going forward to bring glory to the holy blessed almighty forever name of Jesus the Christ, Lord of Lords, King of Kings, Father in heaven, God almighty, Savior of the world – and to help others to do the same!
Are you using your every breath to love and glorify God and to encourage others to do the same? Oh, may it be so!
“Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!” Psalm 150:6
“As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God.” Psalm 42:1
“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
