TODAY’S LITTLE LETTER FROM LARA “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32 Dear friend, Years ago the Lord used some very challenging dog rescue work involving a dog dumped at a gas station who was then hit by two cars on the same day and refused to be rescued for 6 weeks to tell me two things. First, to not give up on the dog. And, as I worked on rescuing the dog, He told me not to give up on a human loved one. I was exceedingly exasperated in trying to help the dog who proved so incredibly difficult and fought to no end not to receive help. I was even more exasperated about a loved one whose struggles had taken a terrible toll on him, others, and most assuredly myself! Talk about someone who didn’t want to surrender to…

Monday, June 3, 2019 TODAY’S LITTLE LETTER FROM LARA Dear friend, A dear friend when we pray together sometimes thanks the Lord for His mercy which is new every day. Have you ever considered this? That His mercy goes on forever?I don’t know about you, but I need mercy every breath I take. I fall so very far short of the glory of God, and I am thankful beyond description for His mercy for me. We aren’t just in need of Christ’s mercy, friend. We are in need of pouring it out upon others. But do we? I want to encourage you to be seriously sorry when you sin against God, to ever seek the Lord’s mercy, to receive it, to be thankful for it, AND TO BE MERCIFUL TO OTHERS! May the Lord’s mercy be ever flowing in and through our hearts and lives! Here is a verse for you…

Wednesday, May 29, 2019 TODAY’S LITTLE LETTER FROM LARA Dear friend, When the devil tries to destroy the lives of people who follow the Lord Jesus Christ, who truly have turned over their lives to Christ, who live to love and worship and serve Him now and forever, the devil doesn’t just try to destroy our lives so we can’t enjoy our time on this earth. He tries to destroy our ability to lovingly, humbly, joyfully, thankfully, passionately, faithfully, wholeheartedly, and steadfastly SERVE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST most especially in telling the world Jesus is the only way to everlasting life and in helping people to commit their lives to Christ and to follow Him! The devil attacks us with the intention of trying to get us so down, disheartened, discouraged, depressed, downtrodden, distracted, etc. that we don’t seem to have or feel we have the strength and energy and ability…

TODAY’S LITTLE LETTER FROM LARA Dear friend, Yesterday the Lord sent me back into New York City for a few hours – my 2nd trip back since doing 6 months of streets ministry there last year. My flesh felt pretty much in shock at being back in such a wild, expensive, challenging, noisy, smelly, crazy place in so many ways. But all it took was giving a few Gospel tracts out to several homeless people to remember why I am willing to go back for a season to a place that feels everything but comfortable, easy, affordable, safe, and secure. Why would I return? Why am I waiting on the Lord in New Jersey as He prepares me for my return there and leads me to housing for me and the ministry’s special needs service doggies? Because I LIVE FOR THE LORD JESUS CHRIST who died on the cross to…

Dear friend, If you’re having trouble keeping up with all the news and change and challenge and victories and growth in this ministry, rest assured I am as well…! I have been on the road for Jesus for 2 years now with what are now 5 special needs dogs doing streets ministry and writing and publishing Gospel tracts, devotionals, and books as the Lord  Jesus Christ leads me from place to place around the country to help people to find and forever follow Him. I recently left the Florida Panhandle, am wrapping up a few weeks in the Appalachian region of West Virginia, and just received the wonderful news yesterday that the Lord has blessed me with a hotel just outside the New York City area in New Jersey where I’ll get to do ministry work in New Jersey while looking for housing in New York City for my next…

TODAY’S LITTLE LETTER FROM LARA Dear friend, One thing that never ceases to amaze me is how long I can be following the Lord Jesus Christ, how desperately I can love Him, how desirous I can be to please Him, and how quickly and easily I can fall and fail in the midst of a trial, when facing a challenge, when circumstances are hard, when my flesh is exhausted, etc. But though I may fall, and even fail, the Lord’s love does not fail (1 Cor. 13:8), His mercy does not run out (Psalm 136), and He is ever ready…

Your Life from a Different View…………. One day a sister in Christ thanked me for helping her to see her life from a different perspective. It had not been my intention. I had simply thanked her for her generosity and made reference in my correspondence to how blessed she was that God had given her something in particular in her life. Apparently she had needed the encouragement to see what she had thought of as somewhat of a burden as a blessing! When I received her thank you for helping her to see her life from a different view, and even now as I write this, I was convicted by the Spirit of God who lives inside His followers. How so? Sometimes I get so bogged down in the details and challenges of my everyday life that I lose sight of how very blessed I am. The challenges seem like…

Up and Down the Mountains…………….”I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2………….. Honestly, I was HORRIFIED to discover the massive mountains (massive in my estimate anyway) I had to drive HOURS through to get to my next destination on the road for Jesus. I have a very old car, wouldn’t take a million dollars to ride a roller coaster, was exhausted, and the last thing I wanted to do was face the up and down ride I hadn’t expected. The Lord blessed me with one of the most beautiful blessings I have ever received. I called a beloved friend and sister in the Lord who is my co-laborer in ministry. She heard my panic. She heard my distress. She heard my need. She spent probably 20 to 30 minutes on the…

Dear friend, In the past few days, it’s been hard to imagine I could ever write again. So much change, so much challenge, such uncomfortable circumstances. But the Lord is faithful to enable us to do what He desires us to do. And I am learning day by day that when I feel like I can’t do something, it’s the perfect opportunity to witness myself and to share with and show others what I CAN do THROUGH CHRIST – and FOR CHRIST. I encourage you to look at your life and see if there’s anything you’ve been holding back on doing that the Lord is leading you to do for fear you can’t do it or the belief that you can’t do it. If God has called you to it, do you believe He’ll give you all you need to do it? Have faith, friend! Hard to muster up the…

Sexual Assault Survivor & My Paralyzed Dog……. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.” 2 Cor. 1:3-5 Only the Lord could have orchestrated saving and healing me from decades of brokenness to bringing into my life two paralyzed wheelchair doggies and their special needs sibling doggies, then sending me out on the road for Him full-time and continually using the dogs to introduce me to people in need – including a broken woman a few days past being sexually assaulted who took comfort in cuddling with paralyzed doggy Mr. Simeon…
