Dear friend, …….. What’s that gibberish? I don’t like text messaging, but I’ve given in and started to do it simply because it’s too hard to avoid when so many people are using it these days to communicate. One day I received a text message from someone I had just spoken to over the phone with the following gibberish. “IGWT!” It was gibberish, wasn’t it? It’s so easy with those tiny keys to type the wrong letters. Obviously the person had made a mistake. Right? No, I don’t think so. ………. Suddenly it came to me. IN GOD WE TRUST! Wow. EXACTLY what I needed to hear. What I needed to remember. What I need to be reminded of constantly. We are to TRUST IN THE LORD. How often? ALL THE TIME. With what? EVERYTHING. Why? BECAUSE HE IS LORD. How easy it is to toss around the words, “Of course…

TODAY’S LITTLE LETTER FROM LARA Dear friend, When I asked a young woman if she would like to do something, she said she wanted to pray about it. At first, I was taken aback because I had expected and hoped she would immediately say yes in response to my question. Then I realized how absolutely wonderful, and refreshing, her response was! Just a day earlier I had heard someone describe big plans for the future without taking the Lord into account. Now I was hearing someone say she didn’t want to do something even small without the Lord leading the way. This, friend, is that to which I aspire. To live utterly surrendered to the Spirit of Christ leading the way day in and day out. The Lord Jesus Christ purchased His followers with the price of His blood shed on the cross for us to pay the punishment for…

Dear friend, ……. Do you know what each new day brings? Much, of course. But first and foremost, the opportunity to live and breathe for the Lord Jesus Christ. To love and glorify God almighty. To love and serve Jesus. To spend time alone with God with the Bible open in our laps and our hearts open to the love and teaching of the Lord. …….. Today, will you make Jesus number one in your life in all that you do? In all that you say? Will you live in this day – and for always – above all else to bring love, joy, pleasure, honor, praise, worship, and glory to God almighty through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ? This is the day the Lord has made, as the Lord teaches us in the Bible, and in this day are endless possibilities. May our greatest desire, and our most…

Dear friend, ……… A woman shared with me how someone told her something blatantly false about the Lord Jesus Christ. Her response was clear, direct, and simple. She told the person the truth concerning the Lord Jesus Christ. …… What beautiful love, boldness, and courage! Can we say the same about ourselves? Do we know the truth about the Lord Jesus Christ? Do we know who He is, what He did, what He is doing, and what He will do, all clearly described in the Bible? Have we turned from our sins, placed our trust in Him and received Him as Lord who died on the cross to pay our sin punishment and was raised from the dead? Have we truly turned our lives over to the Lord and His ways? Have we been filled with God’s Spirit who lives inside His followers, and do we live now led by…

Dear friend, ……… Sometimes I become so exhausted from this life’s journey that I feel like I can’t make it another single step, that no amount of sleep and rest in the world would be enough to enable me to move forward in my life’s calling let alone in my life at all, and then the Lord reminds me of this. My life is no longer my own. It is His. He bought me with the price of the blood He shed on the cross for me. My weakness will never be enough to go forward. But His strength and grace are entirely sufficient. He will enable me to do everything to which He calls me. And the greatest rest I need is not in amount of sleep though I am most assuredly in need of really good sleep these days, but is the rest I can find in Him and…

Dear friend, ……… So I’m about to do something ENORMOUS I DESPERATELY did NOT want to do. To pack up my special needs ministry doggies, theirs, the ministry’s, and my few belongings, and head next week into New York City for another season of streets ministry there. ……… What’s so incredibly surprising is that I AM SO INCREDIBLY EXCITED AND BLESSED AND THANKFUL now to be doing something I so very much didn’t want to do! So why, and how, the change? When I denied myself, took up my little cross, and made the decision to submit myself to the Lord Jesus Christ and His instructions for this next big piece of my personal and ministry journey, the Lord not long afterward LED ME TO REPENTANCE about my BAD ATTITUDE and led me to have THE RIGHT ATTITUDE. A heart filled with love, humility, thanksgiving, and a desire to obey, honor,…

Dear friend, ………… You will stand before God. That’s what’s on my heart right now. This is true for me also. I will stand before God. We will ALL stand before the Lord. ……….. When this world tells us something is good and alright and acceptable and moral, it doesn’t matter. What matters is what GOD SAYS IS GOOD AND RIGHT. What pastors and churches and Christians tell us is good and alright and acceptable and moral doesn’t matter UNLESS IT IS WHAT GOD SAYS IS GOOD AND RIGHT. In these times, as the Lord refers in the Old Testament to a time long ago, this world has things backwards. What is good is often considered evil, and what is evil is often considered good. WE MUST BE CAREFUL! No matter what human beings tell us, even when they call themselves Christians, WE MUST GO TO THE LORD AND TO…

Dear friend, ………. This world right now is a mess, but how easy it is to point the finger at one thing or another, at one person or another, even at one nation or another. But here’s my question. What about you, and what about me? …….. Instead of pointing the finger and judging and condemning others, I believe we need to look at ourselves and ask ourselves three key questions. 1. Have we turned from our sins, put our faith in Christ as Lord who died on the cross to pay our sin penalty, truly turning our hearts and lives over to God and His ways whereby we are living our lives above all else to love and glorify God according to His ways and to help others to find and forever follow the Lord Jesus Christ? Simply, are WE living for the Lord Jesus Christ day in and…

Dear friend, ………… Today I enjoyed some of God’s simple blessings. Warm weather. Sunshine. Multiple walks which I absolutely love. Spending time singing to the Lord and seeking Him. A little time in His Word so far with plans to spend more time in it before the day’s end. Chocolate, oh how I love chocolate. Walking with my wheelchair doggies and seeing the miracle of Miss Mercy using her old wheelchair with strength and energy she hasn’t had in months. Ice cubes with cold water and just a little Sprite mixed in. Simple blessings, aren’t they? Friend, for those of us who’ve had struggle after struggle in our lives, who are all too familiar with seemingly relentless trials, sometimes we become so bogged down with tribulations that we miss enjoying and being thankful for even the simplest of blessings. Today, I am thankful for little blessings. And I am thankful…

Dear friend,……… How will you be remembered? Have you ever thought about this? Honestly, I rarely think about it. But for some reason, this just came to mind. So I felt led to share with you on this topic. No matter the details of your life’s story, will you be remembered when you are gone from this earth as someone who loved the Lord Jesus Christ, who lived for the Lord Jesus Christ, who glorified the Lord Jesus Christ? Or will you be remembered as someone with great worldly accomplishments, great worldly successes, great worldly pride and praise, great worldly wealth, great worldly pleasures and treasures, great worldly happiness? Jesus’ followers aren’t called to live for self according to the world’s ways. We are called to live for Jesus according to His. There is no greater legacy than to have lived on this earth for the Lord and to have…
