3 Tragedies & a Plea

In the three most recent hotels at which I have stayed in my  life on the road for Jesus with my special needs ministry dogs, the hotels have experienced the same tragedy. Staff and/or police needing to break into a hotel room only to find a dead body. One a suicide. One a murder, suicide, or alcoholism-related death. The third unknown. In two of these cases, days before the bodies were found. Three tragedies. And a plea.

No matter the cost to your flesh, no matter the sacrifice you have to make, no matter how uncomfortable you may feel, no matter how scared you may be, no matter how tired you may be, no matter the mood you are in, no matter how packed your calendar book is, no matter how much you’d rather go ahead with your own plans, no matter what pleasures you have to give up, would you please humble yourself before God almighty, seek the will of God, and at His leading in His love and strength reach out to people you see who are in need and help in any way the Lord desires?

I have never seen the world in such dire straits, I have never crossed paths with so many people suffering in one way or another, and I have never been more resolved to share the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, to love and encourage people, to pray for them, to point them to the Lord and the Bible, and to see how I can help them even if it is simply to smile, say hello, and give them one of my Finding the Light Gospel tracts which includes my personal story and the Gospel message.

We can’t help every single hurting person, we can’t reach out to every single person in need, we can’t help the whole world, but we should help the ones the Lord puts on our hearts to help. This is my plea. Above all else, love the Lord with all your heart, love your neighbor as yourself, live for Jesus Christ as Lord, and be humble, loving, diligent, and faithful in reaching out to a world in need with the love, grace, mercy, hope, peace, joy, wisdom, truth, compassion, comfort and kindness of Jesus. Amen!

Please God open our hearts, eyes, and ears, speak to us, dear Father, show us by your Holy Spirit whom to reach out to, let us know what it is you desire we do with each person, help us to know when to speak, when to listen, when to encourage, when to share the Gospel, when to give out a tract or Bible, when to call 911 for someone, when to offer assistance, when to carry someone’s groceries, when to mow somebody’s yard, when to bring someone a bag of groceries, when to help someone find a job, whatever it is you desire, oh Lord, help us to be humble and faithful in loving and serving you and loving and serving others in your name, oh Lord, AMEN!

PLEASE NOTE in almost 4.5 years of time on the road for Jesus, the numbers of people I have met at hotels where I have stayed dealing with drug addictions, dealing drugs, alcoholism, domestic violence, criminal activity, prostitution, tragedies, adultery, homosexuality, pornography, homelessness, deadly diseases, grief, rage, stealing, worshiping false gods and being engaged in false religions, contemplating suicide, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, child abuse, etc. has been utterly astounding. This world is in exceeding need of the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us be a light shining in the darkness of this world that people might be drawn through our hearts, words, actions, and prayers to Jesus!

“And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” Matthew 25:33-46 KJV

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 KJV
