“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
There is no greater love in the universe than God’s love for the world He created, no greater expression of His love for us than that He sent His only Son Jesus to the cross to take the punishment for our sins we deserve on Himself and to be raised from the dead, and no greater gift throughout time than God forgiving us and giving us everlasting life when we turn from our sins and believe in Him as Lord. Isn’t it something then, how quickly we can doubt His love for us when things in our lives aren’t going our way? When circumstances aren’t the way we want them to be? When we can’t actually feel His love? When we can’t necessarily see His love with our human eyes when our life’s circumstances are challenging and we’re more focused on our challenges than on Him? If there is nothing else in the world we meditate on than the Lord Himself, than His love for us, than His death and resurrection, and than the promise of a forever relationship with Him when we give our lives to Him, we have a reason to be joyful and rejoice and celebrate and praise Him and to worship Him and to be thankful literally forevermore! I encourage you to take your eyes off your challenges and to set your heart and gaze upon Jesus, His death and resurrection, eternity with Him if you are His faithful follower, and God’s Word! Then, friend, REJOICE!
