“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.” Galatians 5:22-26

Oh, if we were only so blessed as to have the fruit of the Spirit being born, or borne, without any laboring in the process. But just as a baby is born after so very much labor, so is the fruit of the Spirit borne of much laboring. The laboring of dying to self.

Do love, joy, peace, longsuffering, etc., come to us naturally? Is it the first thing to which we resort, and the first thing we produce, including when we are going through great trials and enormous tribulations? I think not. Not for me anyway. So it is there is a process to the fruit of the Spirit coming forth. Does an apple tree produce apples the day the seeds are planted in the ground? I think not. But in time, with the right climate, the right amount of water, the right soil, and everything else necessary in place and in order, one day we see apples upon apples filling the branches and ready to be picked or to fall.

Friend, we are so very blessed to have God’s Spirit living inside us when we belong to Jesus. And so blessed He produces fruit through us. It’s the fruit of what? OF THE SPIRIT. OF CHRIST IN US. It’s HIS FRUIT, isn’t it? FOR HIS GLORY, isn’t it? TO BE PARTAKEN OF by us, by others, and all for the glory of Christ!

When we lived according to the world’s ways, with our knees bowed down to the devil and our lives on the highway to hell, what kind of fruit did we produce? The fruit of the Spirit? Not in the least. Not even possible. But now, oh yes, it is not just possible. It is natural. The natural fruit produced by Christ’s Spirit in us? Love, joy, peace, etc. Glory be to the Lord for this bountifully beautiful blessing of HIS fruit for HIS phenomenally unmatchable unparalleled GLORY, AMEN!

“‘For thus says the Lord God: “Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day. And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land; I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the valleys and in all the inhabited places of the country. I will feed them in good pasture, and their fold shall be on the high mountains of Israel. There they shall lie down in a good fold and feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. I will feed My flock, and I will make them lie down,” says the Lord God. “I will seek what was lost and bring back what was driven away, bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong, and feed them in judgment.”” Ezekiel 34:11-16

Glorious, glorious, glorious. Read the Old Testament to understand the full meaning of these verses as the Lord in the book of Ezekiel the prophet makes known His plans for His chosen people – the Israelites. The Jewish people. Even without full historical understanding, if you don’t have it, can you see the gloriousness of the Lord Jesus Christ so loving HIS SHEEP He will bring into HIS SHEEPFOLD that HE WILL GATHER THEM HIMSELF so HE CAN FEED THEM and GIVE THEM REST and HEAL THEM? And that He will bring judgment to the wicked?

The best shepherd in the universe when it comes to gathering sheep – animals – does not even come close to THE GREAT SHEPHERD. To the GOOD SHEPHERD. To the Lord of Lords and King of Kings who will bring all who turn from their sins and believe in Him as Lord into one forever flock to enjoy paradise with Him forevermore!

Blessedness? Blessing? No words can even come close to describing the enormity of this blessing! Praise the Lord, oh praise you Lord and King, God almighty, praise you Father in heaven, praise you Lord forever and ever, AMEN!

“Blessed is the man You choose,

And cause to approach You,

That he may dwell in Your courts.

We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house,

Of Your holy temple.” Psalm 65:4

Blessed. That’s exactly what this verse says. Blessed. BLESSED! With an exclamation point, yes! What unparalleled wonder! What an extraordinary reason for everlasting rejoicing! The Lord of Lords, King of Kings, God almighty, Jesus the Christ with whom we CANNOT have a forever relationship now and in heaven because of His perfection and holiness and righteousness and our sinfulness died on the cross and was raised from the dead so – So what? So when we repent and turn to Him as Lord, believing He died on the cross for us and was raised from the dead, fully devoting our lives to Him with the fruit to show forth our faith, WE CAN APPROACH HIM.

Not only can we come into His courts, so to speak, and to His mercy seat, and into His temple, but through His finished awesome work on the cross, and through our faith in Him, WE CAN COME INTO HIS FOREVER PRESENCE. And, one day, into His FULL GLORIOUS FACE-TO-FACE EVERLASTING PRESENCE! Without what Christ did on the cross for us, we would NEVER EVER have access to God the Father in heaven. But because of what Jesus did on the cross for us, we not only have access to God almighty. We have FOREVER ACCESS. Yes, NOW – and FOREVERMORE! AMEN!

“Blessed be God,

Who has not turned away my prayer,

Nor His mercy from me!” Psalm 66:20

The Lord has every right to turn away our prayers now and forever. Why? He is HOLY. He is RIGHTEOUS. He is PERFECT. And us? We are SINNERS. Totally UNRIGHTEOUS. UNHOLY. IMPERFECT.

Why would the Lord God almighty in heaven, Creator of the universe, want to hear and answer the prayers of those who live in rebellion against Him? Who are sinful by our very nature? Why would He want to be merciful to us? Why should He be merciful to us? Why should He forgive us for all our wrongdoing?

There is NOTHING we can do to possibly earn His love, forgiveness, and the promise of forever with Him! Absolutely NOTHING. But God in His unbelievable love for us, and His desire for us to be with Him forever, sent His only Son Jesus to the cross IN OUR PLACE to TAKE OUR SIN PUNISHMENT ON HIMSELF and to be raised from the dead. So that we can cry out to Him for mercy and forgiveness, so we can cry out to Him for His love and grace, so that we can cry out to Him in true sorrow over our sins, SO HE WILL HEAR OUR PRAYERS AND FORGIVE US and GIVE US EVERLASTING FELLOWSHIP WITH HIS AWESOME PHENOMENALLY BLESSEDLY WONDERFUL MAGNIFICENT FOREVER SELF!

Now, when we become part of His forever family, when we through repentance and faith become HIS, He through HIS SHED BLOOD ON THE CROSS hears our prayers and gives us His mercy. Not just once. But ongoingly. For His love is beyond anything we can possibly fathom! Oh, bless the Lord! Bless you Lord! Bless you Lord God forever and ever, forever and ever you will reign, oh Jesus, AMEN!

“Blessed be the Lord,

Who daily loads us with benefits,

The God of our salvation! Selah” Psalm 68:19

Do you know what the italics in this verse indicate? As I understand it, that those particular words were not found in the original text translated into English. Now I’m not a Bible expert nor a Bible historian, so please do your research to confirm this. But I believe that these words have been added to help clarify and bring understanding as best possible. Either way, look at the blessing!

Please note the word DAILY. Yes, daily! The Lord “LOADS US” – that’s huge. HUGE! With what? BENEFITS! Now regardless of the translation, we KNOW FOR SURETY the Lord is continually blessing His people – most of all with Himself. And with a zillion other blessings including spiritual blessings.

Even our next breath is a blessing! Food! Water! Clothing! Shelter! The beauty of nature! The wonderfulness of friendship! The enjoyment of hugs! Love! Forgiveness! On and on His blessings go! His Spirit! His Word! His fellowship! His comfort, compassion, and mercy! His kindness! Relationships! Marriages! Pregnancies! Dreams come true!

Oh, yes, on and on go His benefits. His blessings. But the greatest blessing of all? Take out the words “Who” and “benefits” and see what happens. Then it says, “Lord,…daily loads us [with]The God of our salvation!…Oh my! Yes! The greatest blessing of all IS THE LORD HIMSELF! And He gives us Himself day by day – day after day, yes! Oh, what a blessing is the Lord! The greatest blessing in the universe – THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY! AMEN!
