A New Day!

Another day! Praise the Lord! I was broken for decades and rest assured the last thing in the world I was on many mornings was excited at the prospect of a new day. I was miserable, lost, and depressed, and it was daunting to imagine how I would make it through the day. Even once I became a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, it was a long, long time before I stopped living for myself, started living for Him, and learned the blessedness of a brand new day! Now I am so blessed and so thankful for a new day! But not for the reason you may think.

Each 24 hours for me isn’t about how much I can find to enjoy, how many pleasures I can partake in, how many friends I can go see, how much entertainment I can squeeze into a day, how much time I can spend beautifying myself getting my hair and nails done and such which I don’t do mind you, how much time I get to spend with family which exceedingly rarely happens since I’m on the road full-time for Jesus and ministry, etc. When any of this or anything else for that matter in the way of pleasures and enjoyment in this life are the will of the Lord for someone, how wonderful are His blessings most assuredly and how surely they are to be enjoyed and how definitely they warrant thanksgiving to the Lord. But my excitement at the start of a new day is founded in something else and not in the pleasures of this life. In Jesus the Christ!

For me, the joy of a new day is spending time in the presence of the Lord and being given the privilege of telling the world about Him. For me, the blessedness of a new day is discovering how I can best love, honor, please, adore, praise, serve, worship, glorify, experience, and enjoy God in the next 24 hours – and the opportunity to love, encourage, and help people worldwide to humbly, lovingly, reverently, excitedly, passionately, and blessedly do the same!

Friend, what will you do with this new day? Will you live it above all else for Jesus? According to the Lord’s will? According to His ways? For His glory? Will you work hard to have your thoughts, words, and actions today be pleasing to the Lord? Will you repent when you fall short? Will you be resolved to do what is right in His sight?

Will you rejoice today? Will you be glad today? Will you celebrate today that Jesus Christ is Lord forever and ever? And that if you have repented and placed your faith in Him and in His death and resurrection and genuinely committed your life to Him that you belong to Him forevermore? That you are His for eternity?

Look to the Lord this day, friend! Look to the Bible! Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice that Jesus Christ is Lord, King, and Savior forever and ever, AMEN!

Live this day to the absolute fullest in regard to Jesus! Live for Him, oh yes! Amen, amen! Be glad! Rejoice! Oh yes!

Hallelujah, AMEN!

“Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth.” 1 Chronicles 16:31 KJV

“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24 KJV

Lord, help us to have the right attitude each and every day. And when our attitude is not pleasing to you, please correct us! Teach us, dear Father, to rejoice and be glad each day – to rejoice and be glad IN YOU! Thank you, oh Lord, AMEN!
