Hi everyone, If you know me well, you know I pour my heart and soul into my ministry work writing and publishing included. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE people worldwide to be blessed and encouraged and helped via the writing as the Lord leads, and I could REALLY REALLY REALLY use help in getting the word out about the writing. Prayer is number one! In addition, please let me know if the Lord leads you to help get the word out about the writing. Volunteer internet work, word of mouth, emails to friends, Facebook posts, anything IF THE LORD PUTS IT ON YOUR HEART would be a blessing. This is true for the GOOD NEWS DAILY writing as well as for the tracts, devotionals, & books. My number one desire is that anything you and I and others do in this regard is IN THE WILL OF THE LORD – FOR THE GLORY OF CHRIST! Thank you for your love, prayers, & help!!!! Love & blessings, lara
Dear friend, “I look up to her,” a homeless friend told a friend of mine as she spoke to my friend about me. Yes, you read that right. My homeless friend was telling my friend how she looks up to me. In the past, I might have wanted that. I might have even craved that. The love, approval, acceptance, validation, and the praise, honor, and glory. I quickly corrected my homeless friend. Not only do I not deserve a single ounce of praise honor and glory because ALL THE PRAISE, HONOR, AND GLORY BELONGS TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, but I DO NOT WANT THE PRAISE, HONOR, AND GLORY THAT BELONGS TO THE LORD! I am madly, passionately, deeply, faithfully, devotedly, excitedly, thrillingly, humbly, head-over-heels in love with the Lord Jesus Christ, and my heart’s cry in life each and every day is NOT that people would turn to me. I desire that people turn from their sins and TURN TO JESUS CHRIST AS LORD – fully devoting their lives to Him now and forevermore! I do not want to steal what is not mine. EVERYTHING good in my life, and everything good inside of me, and everything good through me, it is not mine. IT BELONGS TO JESUS. And so do I. I AM HIS. Please do not look up to me, friend. I am NOTHING without Jesus. PLEASE LOOK UP TO THE LORD. And give yourself totally – and forever – to Him! AMEN! PLEASE, MY FRIEND, TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE VERSES BELOW. AND PLEASE CONTINUE SCROLLING DOWN FOR THE REST OF TODAY’S GOOD NEWS DAILY! MAY YOU BE ENCOURAGED AND BLESSED! love & blessings, lara IF YOU NEED HELP BEGINNING OR PRESSING ON IN A FOREVER RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO REACH OUT AT 843-338-2219 OR lara@GoodNews.love “And He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do not go after them. But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.” Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake. But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony. Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist. You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But not a hair of your head shall be lost. By your patience possess your souls. “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”” Luke 8:21-28 NKJV love & blessings, lara
365 BLESSINGS is a devotional book the Lord has led me to publish piece by piece even as I’m writing it rather than waiting until it’s in print to share it. Please join me & be blessed as I write my latest book. Today you will find FIVE NEW BLESSINGS rather than the usual other devotionals I publish in my GOOD NEWS DAILY. May the Lord use them mightily in your life to bring you love, help, hope, encouragement, & inspiration!… Blessing 116…… “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 Here in this verse is the Lord Jesus Christ being prophesied in the Old Testament. When I was under the false prosperity gospel teaching, the focus was almost always on ME, ME, ME and US, US, US and feeling good and getting everything we wanted. There was an enormous focus on physical healing which is absolutely an awesome blessing from the Lord. Problem was I developed a tendency to skip over everything else in the Bible to rush to anything about healing and prospering in one way or another. I was prone to seeing the words, “…by His stripes we are healed” and entirely overlooking the awesomeness of this verse prophesying of how the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross to TAKE THE PUNISHMENT WE DESERVE FOR OUR SINS ON HIMSELF! Awesome, awesome, awesome. His wounds, bruises, and chastisement were what ALL humans deserve for ALL our sins, and He took ALL the punishment on Himself! How could we ever be thankful enough for what Jesus did on the cross for us? We can’t, but we sure can make it our goal day by day to live to glorify the Lord with hearts filled with love, humility, and thankfulness! Oh, let us be thankful, thankful, thankful! ….. Blessing 117 “For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.” Romans 11:36 All glory for everything good in the universe goes to the Lord God almighty, yes! Let us be thankful that everything good is from God, through God, and for God! Let us remember daily to give the Lord glory for each and every blessing He bestows upon us! Let us be thankful more than anything for the Lord Himself, hallelujah, yes, AMEN! ….. Blessings 118 “As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” So he arose and followed Him.” Mt. 9:9 Look at the sequence of events in these simple verses. Jesus sees Matthew. Jesus tells Matthew to follow Him. What does Matthew do? Wait? No. Wonder? No. Hesitate? No. Debate? No. Run the other way? No. Consider whether he may have better things to do? No. Look at all his options and tell Jesus He has better things to do? No. Matthew gets up and goes! Just as we should do when it comes to Jesus inviting us to follow Him! We should simply get up and go! But we humans tend to get caught up in the flesh, don’t we? We don’t always follow as immediately as we should – if we follow at all! We let things and people get in the way sometimes. But nothing and nobody should be more important to us than following the Lord Jesus Christ not just as a one-time act of repentance and believing in Him as Lord, but day in and day out as His Spirit leads us forth. For there is no greater blessing in the universe than the Lord – and His invitation to follow Him – day by day and forevermore! So let us be thankful the Lord desires we follow Him, and let us demonstrate our thanksgiving by doing as Matthew did. He arose and followed. Let us do the same, AMEN! ….. Blessing 119 “Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart! They also do no iniquity; They walk in His ways. You have commanded us To keep Your precepts diligently. Oh, that my ways were directed To keep Your statutes! Then I would not be ashamed, When I look into all Your commandments. I will praise You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments. I will keep Your statutes; Oh, do not forsake me utterly!” Psalm 119:1-8 How remarkable, how beautiful, how surprising, how lovely that the psalmist recognizes he – and we – are BLESSED when we live in obedience to the Lord! When we live according to God’s ways rather than the world’s ways. When we humble ourselves before God instead of bow down to the devil. When we turn from wickedness to the Lord and His righteousness. We are blessed when we do right in the strength of Christ, oh yes! Let us be thankful He shows us the difference between right and wrong, brings conviction by His Spirit for us to choose right, and compels and empowers us to live in a manner pleasing and honoring to Him! Thank you, Father, thank you, dear Lord! How blessed we are! ….. Blessings 120 “With my whole heart I have sought You;…” Psalm 119:10 Psalm 119, the longest psalm in the Bible, is so fabulously full of blessings as is all of the Lord’s Word, and here is but one of them. That the psalmist describes his wholehearted seeking of the Lord! His yearning, his longing, his hunger, his thirst, his seeking of the Lord’s presence and righteousness and loveliness! Friend, through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord, with our hearts and lives truly devoted to Christ, we have 24-7 access to the throne room of God almighty! We can seek and find Him with all our hearts! We can rest and rejoice in His presence any time of day or night no matter our circumstances! When we belong to Him through faith in Him, we are His – forever! We can seek, seek, and seek Him! Anytime! And all the time! And we are so very blessed in so doing! Oh, thank you Lord that you make yourself available to us day and night, night and day, forever, through faith in you, oh Lord, thank you! My God, thank you! Our God, thank you, Lord, Amen!
HOLDING ON FOR DEAR LIFE………… “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”” Mt. 7:24-27 “Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.” Deuteronomy 13:4 KJV Clinging and cleaving to Christianity is not the way of Christ. Clinging to this world is not His way either. Cleaving to the devil and evil is of course not Jesus’ way. We are to cling and cleave – to hold on for dear life – to the Lord Jesus Christ and the Bible. To God almighty and His Word. The Lord led me to repentance long ago because I had a relationship with Christianity and Christian things and Christians but not a personal, intimate, glorious, truly growing relationship with Himself and the Word. Today, the rock on which I am founded is Jesus. To the Lord and the Bible I cling and cleave above everything and everyone. I hold onto Jesus and the Word for dear life. May the same be true for you!
“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!” Romans 11:33……… There is no way to measure the Lord, no way to measure His amazingness and awesomeness, no way to measure the wisdom and knowledge of Him, no way to measure the heights and depths we can go and grow in knowing Him in personal relationship with Him, and no way we can possibly fully understand His judgments and ways. He is greater, more wonderful, more glorious, more majestic, more magnificent, more holy, more precious, more phenomenal, more lovely than we humans can possibly comprehend or describe. No monetary or physical riches of any kind can possibly compare with the riches of knowing, loving, following, and communing with Jesus – now, and, yes, forever! The most blessed riches in the universe are those associated with the Lord Jesus Christ! Oh, the blessings of the Lord! Let us be thankful, so thankful, so thankful yes!
CRYING OUT TO CHRIST….. “Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”” Mt. 22:37-40 “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:26-27 I knelt on the ground in a little underground tunnel area in Central Park, New York City, with a group of followers of the Lord Jesus Christ crying out aloud to the Lord with such intensity in prayer from the very deep of my soul that I was literally almost dizzy with desperation and emotion. I cried out to God almighty for Him to forgive this world for how much of humanity right now has its back turned against Him. A prayer of repentance for the world – including countless believers in Christ who are lukewarm or even dead in heart when it comes to Jesus. What strikes me as I write this one day later is how much the Lord has changed me – heart and prayers included. My life – prayers included – used to revolve around me and my needs and desires. Now? My life is about Jesus and others! Oh, how the Lord is changing me – teaching me to obey His greatest commands to the depths and core of my being. Is He changing you? Yield yourself utterly to Him and the Bible. Now. Tomorrow. And forever! p.s. Should we pray for ourselves? Yes! In line with the Bible! According to God’s will and ways! With trust in Him that He knows what is best! But let us not be consumed with self. May we be consumed with Christ – forevermore. AMEN!
So excited and blessed to report a big batch more of my pocket-sized devotionals went out today to prisons and jails around the United States – with another big amount sent out recently. And another huge shipment being prepared by a new co-laborer in Christ to go out to more prisons as well as places for the homeless in the very near future……. My biggest thrills for years were “falling in love” with men, getting a good suntan, losing weight, feeling loved, going on a great vacation, drinking myself into drunkenness, etc. My greatest joy and thrill now is loving and worshiping the Lord forever and telling the world about Him! Please keep the prayers coming as I press on in my streets ministry work in New York City and writing and publishing Gospel tracts, devotionals, and books – with my handicapped streets ministry doggies along for the journey for Jesus! p.s. donations exceedingly appreciated if you’re led to help support this labor of love for the Lord Jesus Christ! love & blessings, lara
Dear friend, ……….. Yesterday I told a woman I met briefly I was so thankful for the beautiful day and wonderful summer the Lord has blessed us with in New York City where I currently am for my streets ministry work. She lashed out about how wrong I was and what an awful summer of weather it has been. A little while later, she lashed out at me again for believing the Bible is literal and true and for something I believe according to the Bible. Soon after, she took off. No doubt none too pleased. In retrospect, it was like looking in the mirror at how I used to be. I was prideful, arrogant, self-righteous, judgmental, angry, and mean so much if not most of the time, I oftentimes justified my wrong attitude and wrongdoing and held onto it, and I believed only parts of the Bible are true. The Lord didn’t leave me as I was. He saved me and transforms me day by day by His Spirit through His Word and has made me into the woman of faith I am today. Totally sold out, totally on fire, totally devoted to Him. Oh sure, I mess up. I make mistakes. I fall. I sin. But I’m on the right path. Repenting when I need to repent. Ever learning how to lovingly, humbly, faithfully follow Him in His love, in His strength, by His grace and mercy. FOR HIS GLORY. Let us not remain as we once were nor even as we are today. Let us put our hearts and lives in the hands of the Lord and Bible and trust Him to turn us into the men and women of faith He created us to be. Totally HIS. love & blessings, lara “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:1-2 IF YOU NEED HELP BEGINNING OR PRESSING ON IN A FOREVER RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO REACH OUT AT 843-338-2219 OR lara@GoodNews.love love & blessings, lara
Dear friend, ……….. It’s still so incredibly hard for me to imagine that I was once so lost and broken and hopeless FOR DECADES that there was no human hope for me. My full story you can read on my ministry website at https://goodnews.love/lara-walk-by-faith-ministry/. Today, I’m totally exhausted because I’m a sold out follower of the Lord Jesus Christ who saved me from my sins and sin punishment of death, hell, and the lake of fire and gave me a forever relationship with Himself along with a blessed life on this earth being on the road for Him doing streets ministry and writing and publishing Gospel tracts, devotionals, and books – with my little crew of handicapped streets ministry doggies! I’ve now been back in New York City for my second season of ministry here for about two months and am already exhausted from the extreme number of ongoing opportunities to minister to people along with the extreme emotions of it all. Of seeing up and close and personal a lost and dying world in dire need of Jesus. I am SO EXCITED to get back to my Good News Daily writing along with pressing on in writing my 365 Blessings devotional book – as I carry on sharing the Gospel, passing out tracts, and ministering to people on the streets. I’ve taken off a few days of my writing not at all because that’s my desire. Simply because I’m trying to keep up with everything – including preparing a massive number of my latest pocket-sized devotional to be sent out to prisons, homeless shelters, and others around the country. I’m blessed to have a new volunteer to help with this, but she has just gotten up and running this very day. And I have another friend who has stepped in to help in a different part of the country with various little things. On that note, I could always use more support – financially and physically and most assuredly in the area of love, encouragement, and prayer. I hope to be back soon to the writing – with a little rest along the way. Tonight, I am going for a little while to an outdoor prayer meeting in New York City and to hand off a big bunch of Gospel tracts to someone else in ministry to help pass them out wherever and to whomever the Lord desires. There is nothing more exciting, thrilling, humbling, and blessed in the universe for me than to be promised forever life with Jesus and to live and breathe to bring God glory and to help people find and forever the Lord Jesus Christ! Thanks for keeping me prayed up! love & blessings,
PLEASE SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO SEE ALL OF TODAY’S EDITION OF MY GOOD NEWS DAILY! TODAY’S LITTLE LETTER FROM LARA…….. Dear friend,……… One way I know just how much the Spirit of God who lives inside Christ’s followers is alive and thriving in me is how quickly and emphatically He brings conviction when I am doing something displeasing and dishonoring to Him. Right down to my very thoughts, the Lord brings strong conviction when I am in disobedience to Him. When my heart and life are not lined up with the Bible which is our road map for living. But I have long since learned not to be upset and resistant to God’s correction. Oh, sure, I am deeply remorseful when I hurt the Lord. But I am not upset He corrects me. I am pleased and delighted! Why? Because the Lord corrects us in His love for us! He doesn’t want to leave us in our sin. He wants us free from it and to walk in purity in His intimate fellowship! Please consider these verses, and please be encouraged with God’s correction. And, when He corrects you, please humble yourself, repent, and learn how to do what is right. What pleases and honors the Lord God almighty, AMEN! love & blessings, lara”And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: “My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.” If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.” Proverbs 12:5-11 IF YOU NEED HELP BEGINNING OR PRESSING ON IN A FOREVER RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO REACH OUT AT 843-338-2219 OR lara@GoodNews.love love & blessings, lara TODAY’S DAILY INSPIRATION FEELING OFFENDED“But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back. And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise. “But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.” Luke 6:27-36 The Lord’s been showing me something these days that is truly life-changing. His Spirit has been speaking to my heart that I need to stop allowing myself to get OFFENDED over people’s words and actions. And that when I find I have allowed myself to get offended, I need to LOVE AND FORGIVE THEM. But that’s not all!The Lord has showed me over and again the very people I’m allowing myself to get offended by are people He may want me to PRAY FOR, HELP, and MINISTER TO. Yes, you read that right. Trouble is I’ve allowed myself for so long to be so consumed with myself and how I feel and how I’ve been hurt that I have missed countless opportunities to minister to a world in need! Think this message is just for me? Doubtful. I feel so very compelled to share it with you. With whomever is led to read this. With the whole world, in fact. Why? We are ALL called to love, to forgive, to pray for people, to help people, to tell people about the Lord Jesus Christ, and to help people find and follow Him. But when we allow ourselves to get offended, and we become consumed with ourselves and our hurts and become mired in self-pity, vengeance, pride, judgment, etc., we may well miss our opportunities. Please do as I’m doing. Learn how not to get offended. And, when you find that you’ve already become offended, love. Forgive. And follow the Lord as He leads the way as far as prayer, helping, and ministering are concerned. TODAY’S 365 BLESSINGS 365 BLESSINGS is a devotional book the Lord has led me to publish piece by piece even as I’m writing it rather than waiting until it’s in print to share it. Please join me & be blessed as I write my latest book…! Blessing #114 “Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.” 1 Thess. 4:1-2 The Lord doesn’t just want us to please Him. He tells us how to please Him! He uses His Word – and in this case the apostle Paul and his fellow apostles – to help us learn how to please the Lord! Have you ever considered why the Lord wants us to please Him? Do you believe it’s just random? The Lord wants we whom He created to be in His forever fellowship! He wants us to have an intimate relationship with Him as Lord! When we dearly love someone, we dearly desire to please that person, right? How much more so should we desire to please the Lord of Lords, King of Kings, God forever! How blessed we are the Lord wants us in His forever presence, wants us to please Him, teaches us what pleases Him, is patient and merciful with us as we learn how to please Him, and rewards His faithful followers who strive to please Him with His forever fellowship! Blessings in abundance when it comes to pleasing Jesus! TODAY’S THE CROSS DEVOTIONAL PLEASING JESUS “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 “and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” 2 Cor. 5:15 “For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Cor. 6:20 “What could I do today that would please you?” I said. Not aloud. In my heart. Not to myself. To Jesus. Yes, that’s right. Me, the one whose life revolved totally around herself for altogether too many years. Me, me, me. No more. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Learning. Yes. Now? Learning to live with my life revolved around Jesus. Because now in all honesty it’s His life. See, He bought it with a price. That’s what happens when we turn from our sins, believe Jesus is Lord and died on the cross to pay our sin penalty and was raised from the dead. That’s what happens when we receive Him as Lord, receive God’s forgiveness and the promise of an everlasting relationship with Him. That’s what happens when we truly turn our lives over to Him. We become HIS. We belong to JESUS. Not to ourselves. Oh, sure, we can use the words, “my life.” In essence, we make the decisions. We carry ourselves around. We wake up in the morning. And go through our days. In terms of language, sure, we can say, “my life.” “His life.” “Her life.” But who owns our lives? To whom do we belong? Are our decisions in our own hands whereby we live according to our own whims, wishes, wants, and ways? Or do we turn ourselves over to Jesus day by day? To the LORD? So we learn how to live like this. Pleasing and honoring Him instead of living for ourselves. Yes, living for Him. For JESUS! How can I please you today, Lord? Please ask Him that question. Not just today. Let this be your way of life. Live for Jesus. Today. Each and every day. And forever. Amen! TODAY’S SERVING JESUS IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Cor. 10:31 I love my work. No, I take that back. I LOVE my work. In fact, I LOVE LOVE LOVE my work. Now please understand I had numerous jobs over the years to make money and pay my bills. I can’t remember a job I truly LOVED. What I remember is I was often restless, anxious, disinterested, and entirely self-consumed. I didn’t desire to do a job. I had a terrible work ethic much if not most of the time. Maybe all of the time. I was consumed with me. And getting through the work day to get on to “better things”. Whatever was better. Because certainly something must have been better than the jobs I had. The work I do now – SERVING THE LORD in my ministry work – comes with three unbelievably major differences from my past work. * My heart and life are devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ * The work I do is the work the Lord gave me to do and equips and enables and empowers me to do * I do this work to love, serve, and glorify the Lord – and to love and help others to find and forever follow Him I don’t know what the Lord has called you to do with your work life. But I do know this. When we devote our hearts and lives, work included, to the Lord Jesus Christ, we are blessed and rewarded with the amazing opportunity of pleasing, honoring, and bringing joy to the Lord! Is your work life and your attitude about work pleasing to Jesus? If you’re not working, are you still taking the love, time, and care each and every day to love and serve and glorify God? Let our work bring the Lord pleasure and glory, AMEN! LATEST MINISTRY UPDATE & PRAYER REQUEST “You live up to your name,” someone I met communicated to me one day. He was referring to my last name, LOVE. In case you don’t know, I prayed to the Lord for a new last name and received from Him the name LOVE. I’ve had some tough family challenges for decades, was abandoned by two husbands, and figured it was time for a new name. I believe the Lord gave me LOVE to remind me His greatest commands are to LOVE Him with all our hearts and to LOVE others as ourselves. I wish I could tell you I live up to my name LOVE all the time. But it isn’t so. I fall short each and every day of my life, but my highest desire is to obey the Lord’s greatest commands – beginning with LOVING Him! And continuing with LOVING others including you who are reading this. It all begins with being LOVED by Him! As the Lord refines me, grows me, transforms me, and conforms me day by day to His image, teaching me how to LOVE, I could very much use prayer that I would do just that. So today as the Lord greatly grows my ministry work, I would ask that you please pray for me if you are led that day by day I would walk in the LOVE of the LORD JESUS CHRIST! love & blessings, lara “We love Him because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19
