19“This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. 20“For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21“But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”
– JOHN 3:19-21 NASB
BIBLE TAKEOUT 6/24 – BIBLE TAKEOUT
SCARED OF THE DARK
Little kids are afraid of the dark, but big people sometimes are afraid of coming out of the dark. Jesus is the light of the world. If you are afraid of coming into the light, it is because you are afraid of your sins being exposed.
Just because you believe in Jesus as Lord does not mean you are living in the light. If there is any area of your life that you’re keeping secret, you are living in the dark.
God already knows your secrets. He wants to set you free, but He can’t do that when you stay in the dark. He wants you to come to Him to confess your sins and receive forgiveness, and He wants to send you help.
The Bible teaches us to confess our sins to God for forgiveness through faith in Jesus Christ (1 John 1:9), AND the Bible teaches us to confess our faults to one another and to pray for one another so that we can be healed (James 5:16).
If you are being convicted by the Lord through today’s BIBLE TAKEOUT and these scriptures, please don’t stay in the dark. Step out into the light, ask God to forgive through faith in Jesus, and receive forgiveness. Then stay in the light where God, through His Holy Spirit, His Word the Bible, and the Body of Christ, will teach you how to walk in His ways.
