Trapped

“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.” Proverbs 29:25

Are you trapped? The Bible says the fear of man produces a snare, or a trap. In the Hebrew language, the word “snare” also means “noose”. If you are living your life to please people, to gain their love, acceptance, validation, approval, affirmation, or confirmation, you are trapped. You are hanging from a noose.

This week, I printed out about 20 pages of Bible verses in which God commands us to fear Him and not man. We are called to live our lives for Him, to make our decisions and take our actions based on His will and His ways. But many of us get caught up in seeking the people and the things of this world rather than the will and ways of the Lord.
If you are caught in the trap, or noose, of living for the love and approval of others, repent. Confess your fear of man to the Lord, seek and receive His forgiveness, open up your Bible and study and apply it, and learn to live the life the Lord created you to live. For His glory.
