But God I Want Answers!

I was down on my knees begging God to speak to me. Newly arrived in Jacksonville Beach, Florida where God had led me to set up a ministry base, I sought Him about one particular aspect of my ministry.

His answer was simple, practical, direct, not what I was hoping to hear, clearly what I needed to hear, and perhaps what you yourself need to hear.

“Be patient,” His Holy Spirit spoke gently to my heart.

Lovingly, tenderly, fatherly, and He is the perfect almighty Father, He said all He would say on the matter at the time.

I have spent so much of my life wanting answers, wanting to know what will happen, how things will unfold, what part I will play, or not, if something bad is going to happen, and what, anxious, impatient, often expecting the worst, wanting everything all figured out, wanting to know the future – this very minute – etc.

Now God was reminding me, and perhaps is telling you through this message, to be patient.

And what should come with patience? What should go hand in hand with patience? TRUST IN THE LORD!

I love how the psalmist writes of PUTTING our trust in God as a conscious act.

Let us PUT OUR TRUST IN THE LORD – and BE PATIENT!

“How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.” Psalms 36:7 NKJV

“And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.” Psalms 9:10 NKJV

“Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.” Psalms 16:1 NKJV
