Day 69
Celebrating Victories!
So many times in the Old Testament people celebrated victories and thanked the Lord with great rejoicing when the Lord delivered them from their enemies. The Old Testament is filled with so many battles, but it is also filled with so much praising the Lord. When the people yielded themselves to the Lord and lived in obedience to Him, He delivered them time and time again. Story after story in the Bible, the people knew to give God the glory. They knew to give the Lord the praise.
When you and I look at our own lives, how good are we at giving God all the glory and thanking Him for the victories in life He gives us? Do we celebrate and rejoice and praise Him and tell others what awesome works God has done in our lives? Or do we give the credit to ourselves and to others and hold back the glory from God who is worthy of all honor, glory, and praise?
I want to encourage you to reflect on the past and to consider the present and to be careful in the future to remember to THANK THE LORD for all the ways in which He delivers you and sets you free and gives you victories throughout your life. To the Lord be ALL the glory!
“For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us. In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.” Psalms 44:6-8 KJV
“The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation. It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me, And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man. Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.” 2 Samuel 22:47-50 KJV
