The Bible makes clear faith is a fundamental ingredient in pleasing the Lord, and faith in Him is how we are called to live. Doubting who the Lord is, doubting what He says in His Word, and doubting what He desires for each of us personally as He speaks to our hearts and leads us down life’s pathway is dangerous because it will lead us astray of God’s will for us and is displeasing and dishonoring to the Lord.
Four “d” words. Doubt. Dangerous. Displeasing. Dishonoring.
As much as I love the Lord with all my heart, am totally devoted to Him, and my faith in Him is strong and growing, I still struggle with doubt which eats away at my faith when I don’t recognize it and get rid of it. The devil – yes, another “d” word – tries to use doubt to get my focus off Jesus and pull me off course.
The psalmist writes over and again about putting his trust in the Lord, and we who struggle with doubt need to purge ourselves of it and make a conscious, concerted effort to continually put our trust in Jesus – hour by hour, breath by breath, forevermore!
Struggling with doubt? Replace it with faith!
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6
“Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”” Hebrews 10:38
“Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.” Psalm 16:1
