God’s Instructions

3
One of the biggest mistakes you can make is to believe that God will give you the same instructions for every situation. Even if one situation looks like another, this does not mean His instructions will be the same. In the Old Testament, God gave clear instructions for different battles for victory. But the instructions were not always the same. Victory was, and is, secured by staying focused on God and obeying His Word – regardless of the situation.

So don’t automatically do what you did last time for success. Instead, seek the Lord to see what He wants you to do this time. And, remember, God will never speak against His own Word. If the Bible does not back up the instructions you are given, they are not from the Lord. Dig into His Word daily with the leadership and teaching of the Holy Spirit to ensure you are solidly grounded in His Word.

The more you study and obey His Word, the more you will be able to discern His instructions. If you are not strong in His Word, seek the godly counsel of followers of Jesus Christ who are deeply immersed in His Word and who can help you hear His instructions. Once you are clear about His instructions, remember your number one priority. Obey the Lord.

“And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” 1 Samuel 15:22 KJV
