Distracted from God

We live in a world filled with distractions, and seems there are more distractions than ever. The biggest problem with distractions and getting distracted is not that we get distracted from our earthly pleasures and treasures in the form of people, places, and things we love and desire. It is that if we are not careful we get distracted from God and a deeply personal intimate relationship with Him.

What matters most in life is not the blessings God bestows upon us. But it is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself and experiencing and enjoying fellowship with Him and seeking and fulfilling His will for our lives.

Our first love should be Jesus. Our greatest desire should be to love, worship, praise, pray to, honor, adore, serve, obey, glorify, experience and enjoy the Lord. Our highest aim should be to bring praise, honor, and glory to the Lord. Our number one goal should be to spend time in the presence of Jesus and to proclaim Him and share Him and the Gospel message with the world.

There is nothing and nobody on this earth more beautiful, lovely, wonderful, marvelous, magnificent, and glorious than the Lord.

And yet the distractions of this life – even good, godly things and people – can distract us from God and putting Him first if we are not ever watchful of this.

I am so exceedingly easily distracted, and I bless and praise the Lord He ever reminds me to draw near to Him, to come spend time alone with Him, to bask in His presence and His wondrous love, to draw ever closer to Him, to turn my back to the distractions of this life and to love and worship Him and be loved and blessed and comforted and cared for and transformed and healed by Him and to find rest in Him.

May your greatest treasure in life be Jesus! And may you be watchful of anything or anyone distracting you from Him being your #1!

Let this message be a loving encouragement to you to make certain Jesus is #1 in your heart and life – and to watch out for distractions!

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21 NKJV
