The fear of man is sin against God almighty, and if we’re not careful to guard our hearts and lives against it, we can find ourselves allowing this dangerous fear to stop us from serving Jesus and living out the calling the Lord has for us.
Worrying about what others will think, say, and do if we fully follow Jesus, go where He sends us, do what He calls us to do, and say what He calls us to say can lead us to turn our backs on the Lord’s will for us and even turn our backs on the Lord Himself.
Truth is it is highly possible some people in our lives maybe even those closest to us will not support us in following Jesus in the extremes to which He may lead us.
Friend, we are called by God to fear Him not man. We are called to please the Lord not man. We are called to love the Lord first and foremost and to forsake all for Him. Let us fear Jesus. Let us follow Jesus. No matter the cost.
Dear Father, I do not believe it is an accident when people read the messages you give me. So I am trusting you that whomever you lead to this particular message are the people who need to hear you speak to their hearts through it. Lord, I pray for them and for myself that you would teach us to fear you not man. That you would help us not to worry about what others think, say, or do in response to us. Specifically I pray you would give us all the courage and boldness and fire for you to faithfully and humbly follow you in love for and service to you no matter how people respond. Help us to be brave, dear Father. For your name’s sake. AMEN!
