Do you REALLY Trust God?

I have a question for you. Do you REALLY trust God? Please note I wrote the word “really” in UPPER CASE letters. Why? Because if you’re anything like me, it’s easy to toss out the words, “I trust God.” And it’s another thing altogether to REALLY trust Him.

Why is this topic on my mind? Because the Lord just called me into His conference room to have a few words with me. I suppose that’s what I get for BEGGING  Him over the past few days to speak to me. Little did I know what He would say to me about REALLY trusting Him.

So here’s what happened. I took my “God’s Notebook”, set up my chair in the beautiful sunshine, stretched out, and told God once again I really wanted to hear from Him. And so He spoke. And, among other things, He told me for the umpteenth time that I have not been trusting Him. I knew without a shadow of a doubt that He was right on. Of course, He always is!

He told me that my actions do not demonstrate trust, and then He went on to tell me what actions I have been taking that show my lack of trust. He convicted me, and I repented. I repented both for my lack of trust and for the actions that have resulted from not trusting Him. Not only did I seek and receive His forgiveness, but I turned away from my sin and made a decision and commitment to trust Him and to change my actions. I can already see the difference – in less than an hour. Wow.

So let me ask you something. Do you REALLY trust God? I encourage you to examine your heart and your life, and to see if your actions demonstrate trust in Him. If they do, great. If they do not, I encourage you to repent. Seek and receive His forgiveness, and turn away from the sin. Make the change.
