Feeling Guilty?

“Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” Isaiah 59:1-2

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:1-2

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6

There is nothing worse in the universe than being separated from God. The only way to have a forever relationship with God is through the Lord Jesus Christ who died on the cross to take God’s wrath at us for our sins and the resulting judgement, condemnation, death, hell and lake of fire sentence we get because of our sins on Himself as the perfect atonement for us so we who repent and turn to God and His ways through faith in Christ, devoting our lives to Him, are forgiven and promised that forever relationship with God because Jesus took our punishment in our place.

When we repent and believe in Christ as Lord, committing our lives to Him for real, we are born again spiritually, born from above, given a fresh start and a clean slate. The greatest peace in the universe comes from God through Christ and is ours for the taking when we repent and dedicate ourselves to Christ, receiving God’s free gift to us, the gift Christ died on the cross and was raised from the dead by God for us to have when we turn away from this world and turn to Him, placing our true trust in Him as Lord.

Some of us are wracked with guilt right now instead of in fellowship with God because we have not been born again, not having repented and given our lives to God through Christ. Others of us are wracked with guilt right now because we have been born again and committed our lives to God but are in open rebellion in that we are refusing to turn away from particular sins and have turned our backs to God in pride and stubbornness, hardheartedness and hardheadedness and are refusing to return to Him. Yes, some have never turned to God in the first place. Some have turned to Him but turned away and need to return.

Is it not time we trade in the guilt, repent, and throw ourselves at the feet of Christ, crying out for mercy and praying for the strength to walk away from our sins and to walk in intimate fellowship with God?

Feeling guilty? Turn to the Lord, my friend, oh turn to Him now! Jesus Christ is the only way to an everlasting relationship with God, and He is the Truth, and He is the life, eternal life, beginning now. Ready? Turn!
