Fussy Dog Testimony

“Why are you making such a fuss Miss Gracie?” I asked special needs ministry dog Grace who lay in her crate right by my hotel room desk in our latest location on the road for Jesus.

Granted she was not overly pleased I had just given her a bath. Now she had to stay in her crate while she dried off. I confess I was whining more about her whimpering than she was whimpering. I don’t like whining or whimpering.

The Holy Spirit moved quickly on my heart to show me something. Gracie was upset she was in her crate freshly bathed and seemed to forget all her blessings. Loads of love, a warm comfortable and safe hotel room. A massive dog bed to share with paralyzed ministry dog Miss Mercy. Her little walks with Miss Mercy in her wheelchair. And plenty of delicious doggy food. Not to mention rescued years ago after being abandoned at a gas station where she was hit by two cars.

But she seemed to forget all her blessings in those moments of whimpering with her present unhappiness.

Don’t we sometimes do the very same thing? Don’t we fuss, whimper, whine, moan, complain, pity ourselves, have a bad attitude, and become negative over circumstances we don’t like all the while neglecting to thank, praise, and bless God for all our blessings and to experience and enjoy them? Don’t we sometimes become so focused and downhearted about what we don’t like in our lives that we lose our focus on God and all the blessings He bestows upon us?

Miss Gracie wasn’t the only one who needed to stop her complaining and focus on her blessings and be thankful for them. I do also. How about you?

Oh, let us thank, praise, and bless the Lord Jesus Christ now and forevermore!
