I am going through an extraordinarily challenging time as I write this message, and truth is as those very close to me know I have struggled unbelievably pretty much my whole life. And there was a time during which I wrongly believed that God could not use me because I was struggling in life. Oh, how wrong I was!
I am living proof, and the Bible makes abundantly clear in the lives of countless people, that the Lord Jesus Christ absolutely can and will use His followers to love, worship, and glorify Him AND to help countless others even in our hard times – WHEN WE ARE TOTALLY DEVOTED TO HIM!
So long as we HUMBLE OURSELVES, so long as we LIVE IN OBEDIENCE TO GOD, so long as we PRAY AND SEEK GOD, so long as we desire to love, honor, and follow Him, so long as we are YIELDED TO HIS HOLY SPIRIT WHO LIVES IN HIS FOLLOWERS, it is absolutely awesome what God can and will do in and through us even when we are in the thick of our trials and during our most fiery battles!
If I did not have a rock solid relationship with Jesus right now, if Jesus were not my Lord and Savior, I have faced challenges for so many decades and am in such an unfathomably fiery battle right and am so utterly burned out that I would likely want to quit life altogether.
Instead, even in the indescribably hard trial I am in right now, I am more on fire for Jesus and ministry than ever before. And God is using me mightily to love and help people around the world for His glory.
Please do not think you are of no use to God when in the midst of life’s trials and tribulations. Cry out to God in prayer, surrender yourself utterly to Him, ask Him to use you however He desires, and trust Him to do just that!
Friend, even in our hardest times, when we are willing to deny self, when we die to self, when we choose God’s will and ways not our own, the Spirit of Christ lives in and through us! So it is not actually our own self pouring out, it is the life of the Lord Jesus Christ pouring through us! Oh, hallelujah! Praise the Lord, AMEN!
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.” 2 Corinthians 4:7-11 NKJV
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 NKJV
