God Means What He Says

“I delight to do Your will, O my God,
And Your law is within my heart.”” Psalm 40:8

One day the Lord told me not to do something.

I decided to do it anyway.

That’s when He said it.

“I mean what I say,” the Spirit of God spoke to my heart.

He stopped me. From doing what I planned to do. What He didn’t want me to do.

Not so very long ago I would have continued in disobedience, justifying my disobedience by convincing myself it was just a little thing. Not a big act of disobedience, just a small one.

But disobedience is disobedience. And JESUS CHRIST IS LORD. And we are to submit to God in ALL THINGS – ALL THE TIME – ALL FOR HIS GLORY. The promise of an everlasting relationship with the Lord is for those who turn from a lifestyle of sin, believe JESUS IS LORD and died to pay our sin penalty and was raised from the dead – AND COMMIT OUR LIVES TO HIM IN FAITH IN HIM AS LORD. This is a LIFESTYLE OF OBEDIENCE to which we TURN. This is REPENTANCE.

That day I didn’t disobey God. I surrendered to Him. And carried on following Jesus.

God doesn’t play around with words, friend. The Bible is His Word, and when His Spirit gives us personal instructions which will always fall in line with His Word, we need to take Him at His Word. At His words. We need to obey.

God ALWAYS means what He says, and He speaks so we can hear – and obey. In humble loving reverence. FOR JESUS CHRIST IS LORD! FOREVERMORE!
