“Stop complaining,” the Holy Spirit of God told me. “And start being thankful.”
What was I complaining about? I won’t bore you with the details. I don’t even remember exactly. Suffice it to say I have a super long history of negativity, complaining, self-pity, etc. I can fall into it in a heartbeat if I am not careful. And sometimes I don’t even see I am doing it because for decades it came totally naturally to me.
All of it is sin against God and needs to be purged from our hearts, words, and actions. What should we do instead? Just what God told me. Be thankful. Imagine if we replaced all of our negativity, complaining, self-pity, etc. with loving, honoring, praising, worshiping, and thanking the Lord!
This is my desire. This is what I aspire to. This is my heart’s cry. And I commit to try. Want to join me?
“So we, Your people and sheep of Your pasture, Will give You thanks forever; We will show forth Your praise to all generations.” Psalms 79:13 NKJV
