When God’s Spirit Speaks to You

0

“My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord,

Nor detest His correction;

For whom the Lord loves He corrects,

Just as a father the son in whom he delights.” Proverbs 3:11-12………………

Within just weeks of a woman telling me she sensed the Lord convicting her she needed to start going back to church on Sundays, she was offered a job requiring her to work on Sundays. The last I heard from her, she seemed to be leaning toward taking the job and may very well have done so. The Spirit of God had brought conviction to her about what He wanted her to do, but He didn’t stop there. Then He tested her. But this message isn’t about a random woman you don’t even know and about what she did or did no end up doing. It’s about us.

When the Spirit of God brings conviction to us, we need to REPENT, COMMIT TO CHANGE, and FOLLOW THROUGH with OBEDIENCE. And the Lord may very well test us to see if we are not only willing to REPENT and COMMIT TO CHANGE to do what pleases and honors Him, but also to FOLLOW THROUGH with OBEDIENCE concerning the commitments we make to Him.

Is there an area of your life in which the Lord has brought conviction to you? Are you willing to REPENT, to COMMIT TO CHANGE, and to FOLLOW THROUGH with OBEDIENCE in humility and loving submission to Christ as Lord? May it be so!
