Dear friend,

One thing that never ceases to amaze me is how long I can be following the Lord Jesus Christ, how desperately I can love Him, how desirous I can be to please Him, and how quickly and easily I can fall and fail in the midst of a trial, when facing a challenge, when circumstances are hard, when my flesh is exhausted, etc.

But though I may fall, and even fail, the Lord’s love does not fail (1 Cor. 13:8), His mercy does not run out (Psalm 136), and He is ever ready to forgive when I am truly sorry for my sins and ready to get back on the right path (1 John 1:9).

I am facing much right now, my flesh is deeply uncomfortable with my present circumstances and challenges, and I have found several times in days past that I myself am not pleased with my attitude at times. And I am so very thankful that the Spirit of Christ who lives inside His followers swiftly leads me to repentance, comforts me in the midst of my challenges, encourages me in the midst of my trials, strengthens me in my weakness, and coaxes me forward in His phenomenal love.

I have numerous wonderful Christ-following sisters in the Lord who walk alongside me in my journey following Jesus, but there is no greater love, no greater encourage-r, no greater friend, no greater hope, no greater peace, no greater leader and guide, no greater one, than the Lord Jesus Christ.

Please make sure you are surrounded in your life by followers of Christ to love, pray for, encourage you, and help you in your relationship with Christ. But, most of all, please make sure your number one relationship is with Jesus and that you pour your heart into spending time with Him alone daily – and are seeking and following Him continually.

With love beyond measure for any and all reading this,

The Right Attitude

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23

“Please help me have a good attitude,” I prayed to the Lord.

If anyone through the years has been the Queen of Bad Attitude, in my opinion anyway, it is me. For decades until I came to believe in Jesus Christ as Lord, my attitude was atrocious. Then it changed overnight, right? Wrong! I readily confess even as a Christ follower, for years I maintained a poor attitude. Only in recent years, the more I follow Jesus, the more I read the Bible, the more I know God’s love for me, the more I love Him, have I begun to have the right attitude. But still, what a long, long way I have to go.

The right attitude? One of love. Of mercy. Of grace. Of peace. Of thanksgiving. Of kindness. Of goodness. Of hope. Of contentment. Of generosity. Of giving. Of gentleness. Of patience. Of being positive. Of having a bright outlook. Etc. The right attitude is taught to us by God in the Bible. It is an attitude we who follow Jesus are to maintain. And we are to repent when the Spirit of God shows us we have fallen short of having the right attitude.

I don’t know about you, but when I’m uncomfortable, unhappy, unsettled, when I face circumstances I don’t like, when I feel overwhelmed, when people are mean to me, when life doesn’t go my way, etc., that’s when I most easily fall into having the wrong attitude.

This very morning, the Lord showed me how I was grieving Him with my anger and impatience and fear regarding my current ministry location and the challenges I unexpectedly face regarding going to the next location He has planned for me. I repented. He brought me back to the right attitude. An attitude that please Him. Honors Him. Obeys Him. Loves Him.

“Please help me to have a good attitude,” I prayed to the Lord.

I wish I could tell you a good attitude comes naturally and continually to me. It does not. I wish I could say in my own strength I can maintain the right attitude. This isn’t true.

But I can tell you this. The Lord will help us to do what pleases Him. So I’m counting on Him to help me with my attitude so more and more I can live to love, honor, revere, bless, please, obey, serve, and glorify Him!

Need help with your attitude? Turn to the Lord and to the Bible so you can join me in having the right attitude. One that brings glory to the Lord, AMEN!

Blessing #37

“At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.” John 14:20

Do you realize what the Lord Jesus Christ promises those who follow Him? That He is IN FATHER GOD ALMIGHTY. That’s not all. That we who follow Him are IN CHRIST. And that Jesus is IN US. People spend years learning how to meditate based on false gods and false religions. We who follow Jesus are not to engage in any of that! We are to meditate ON THE LORD and ON HIS WORD! Please meditate on this verse, friend! The long and short of this verse is that JESUS CHRIST WHO IS LORD WHO IS GOD ALMIGHTY lives in us and through us and we are in Him! Is this not astonishing? Is this not amazing? Is this not awesome? Is this not praiseworthy and thankworthy? Is this not phenomenal? Is this not a breathtaking reality? A beautiful truth? The next time we go through something hard, or feel alone, or don’t know how to proceed with something, or face a seemingly impossible challenge, or the next time we just need a break, a moment’s pause, a minute’s peace, a time of refreshing and restoration, to be rejuvenated and revived, the next time we need a fresh filling of faith, or the return of a smile upon our faces, let us meditate on this. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS IN US WHO BELIEVE IN HIM AS LORD! Oh, hallelujah!

Wounded in the Battle

“The eternal God is your refuge, And underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, And will say, ‘Destroy!'” Deuteronomy 33:27

All Christ followers will have ultimate victory in the Lord Jesus Christ because no matter what the devil throws at us throughout our lives, we through Christ will spend forever with God while the devil will spend eternity in hell and the lake of fire in perpetual torment. But the reality is we still have to go through life’s battles, and we may have some defeats along the way as we wage spiritual war. And regardless of our defeats or victories along the way, we may well sustain some injuries in the midst of the fiery battles in which we find ourselves at times.

One of the beautiful blessings I have discovered as a Christ follower is that even when I have been defeated in battle, or even when I’m winning a battle but still sustain injuries along the way, I can take comfort in Christ and rest in Him and turn to Him and look upon Him and draw closer to Him and snuggle up with Him and give Him my wounds for healing and consider His love for me and be thankful for the ultimate victory I will have in Him and rejoice that no matter what I face and experience in this life, I am His forever and He is mine forevermore. The Lord isn’t some distant God way up high in the sky keeping His distance from His children as we soldier on through life. His Spirit lives inside His followers, and we have access to Him 24-7 to commune with Him and to place our bleeding hearts and hurting lives in His hands when we go through our trials and battles.

If you’re in a vicious battle right now, if you’re facing a mighty trial, if you’re run down and aching with the pain of battling on through this life, turn to the Lord, friend, and as I heard a preacher say many years ago, “lean back on His everlasting arms.” Come into the shelter of His wings. Take rest in Jesus who loves us more than we can possibly fathom.

You Don’t Need to Know“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

When the Lord told me to change the name of one of my publications, I wanted to know. Of course I did. Didn’t I have the right to understand why God told me to do something? Of course, right? Oh, not so!

“Obedience doesn’t need to know,” the Spirit of God told me. “Obedience needs to obey.”

Plain and simple, isn’t it? And so very fundamental to serving God in our everyday lives. We need to love the Lord. We need to obey the Lord. He is our Lord and master. We are His children and servants when we turn from our sins and believe Christ died on the cross to pay our sin penalty and was raised from the dead and devote our lives to Him in exchange for His forgiveness and the promise of an everlasting relationship with Him. Yes, we are His. His followers.

And, just like the Lord told me that day, we don’t need to know and understand. We need to obey.

However the Lord calls you to serve Him from day to day, be encouraged to know you don’t need to understand His reasons and plans and purpose. You simply need to love Him and obey Him. We all do. So let’s do just that. Love and obey the Lord! Amen!

One thing that goes with the territory of doing streets ministry in these modern day times in which so much of our world has its back turned on the Lord Jesus Christ is the risk to safety and the cost of not always feeling comfortable and secure. Without going into unnecessary detail, I have had an experience over the past few days in which I have experienced the discomfort of the consequences of someone’s rebellion against Christ.

In God’s strength, for God’s glory, I have chosen to love, to forgive, to be merciful, to pray for the person, and to trust the Lord to bring to pass His perfect will for His perfect glory. I would ask for your ongoing prayer for my safety and security and that you, too, would choose to love, to forgive, to be merciful, and to pray for those with their backs turned on the Lord.

This world is in dire straits, and evil abounds. The only answer is repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ with our lives devoted to Him. It is not too late for revival, and for awakening, and for a turning to the Lord. And it all begins with repentance and faith in Christ as forever Lord! Please pray, pray, and pray for the Lord to bring repentance and revival and awakening near and far!
