Good News Daily – August 7

Friday August 7

Dear friend,

One of the greatest turning points in my life was when I made a commitment to study the Bible each and every day no matter what. The foundation of my life today is the Lord Jesus Christ and believing in and being totally devoted to Him. Every day, I am committed to spending time alone with the Lord praying, praising Him, singing to Him, worshiping Him, seeking Him, reading the Bible, listening to His Spirit speaking to my heart in line with the Bible, being chastened and led to repentance by Him, being refined by Him, experiencing and enjoying His awesome presence, and serving Him however He desires. I wouldn’t have it any other way, and I so very much encourage you to make the same commitment to be totally devoted to the Lord! Live and breathe for Him, oh yes!

Please find below today’s FOUR MESSAGES.

The titles are:

* My Ugly Nose
* God Sees You
* #1 Priority in Raising Children
* Hurt by Christians

love & blessings,

My Ugly Nose

I was thinking about my ugly nose one day which I ordinarily don’t think about too often in the way of the ugliness of it when the Lord stopped me in my tracks. Big time!

“At least my ugly nose is hidden,” I thought as I considered how the mask I was wearing due to the Covid epidemic hid my nose.

Now my Mom claims I fell out of my baby carriage as a young one and that my Dad who was a doctor felt I would be okay and didn’t need to do anything about it. Not to mention I have had many accidents involving my nose over the years normally due to my not paying attention as I rush around doing things. Others would say I was born that way. Truth is, I don’t think too much about the history of my nose. But it most assuredly is anything but a pretty nose. Can you imagine what the Spirit of God spoke to my heart that day?

“Your nose I gave to you,” He said bluntly.

Strong conviction. And a message for sure. About how we criticize ourselves and others concerning our outward appearances when in fact God made us. One hates her big hips. A man hates his small size. One lady can’t stand her huge frame. One child considers himself not growing quickly enough. One wishes she had pretty eyes in the world’s eyes. Then I have my “ugly nose.” Do we ever consider that we are criticizing the handiwork of God almighty?

Let’s be careful, you and I, shall we? In the world’s eyes, sure, we may fall terribly far short when it comes to our noses, hair, eye color, body frame, shape of our feet, height, etc.. But we weren’t created to be physically gorgeous according to the world’s ungodly standards for the sake of feeling great about ourselves and garnering the attention and praises of people. We were created to love and worship and glorify and please the Lord and to love others as ourselves and to live the lives God has planned for us for His name’s sake.

Let’s stop criticizing the way our glorious Creator made His Creation and get on with believing in and following and exalting the Lord as He leads us down the pathway He sets before us. Amen? Amen! Praise the Lord!

I’m 52 years old as I write this message the Lord has placed on my heart, and I believe it’s the first time ever I am perfectly fine with my nose! Let us be beautiful in the sight of the Lord, friend, in our hearts, with our thoughts, with our words, and with our actions. Let us be wholly pleasing to God almighty, oh yes!

Thank you for this wisdom you have placed in my heart, oh Lord. It has blessed me immeasurably. May you use it many times over Father as you send out this message to whomever you want to receive it. Please help us to get our eyes and thoughts off ourselves and onto you and your Word and your will for us and onto others in a manner whereby we are not critical of them but instead are loving and encouraging! AMEN!

“But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”” 1 Samuel 16:7

God Sees You

God sees you! He sees me! He sees it all. All we think. All we say. All we do. Do you believe He is pleased with what He sees? There are consequences when He is not. When I first desired to stop doing wrong, it was because I hated the consequences including how I felt. Over time, I started not to simply not want to do wrong. I wanted to do right. But it was mostly out of a sense of obligation.

Now things are entirely different for me. The more time I have spent alone with the Lord and the Bible and taken walks and bike rides with Him and praised and worshiped Him and sung to Him and enjoyed Him and prayed to Him and sought Him and repented and been changed by Him and listened for His voice and obeyed Him, the more I have fallen head over heels madly and passionately and zealously and fervently in love with Him. And the more I love the Lord, the more desperately I desire to please Him.

Today, I don’t think of God seeing me as terrifying. I think of His seeing me as beautiful. The one I love more than anything or anyone in the universe sees me. He sees it all. And I desire that what He sees brings Him love, joy, pleasure, praise, glory, and honor. I want Him to be blessed when He sees me right down to my very thoughts. I feel His love. I feel His care. I feel His kindness. I want to be seen by Him, too, because I want His correction. I want to be purified by Him. Transformed by Him. To be closer and closer to Him. This is all borne of His love for me. And mine for Him. Now I delight in being seen by the Lord! Oh, how I delight in the Lord! Oh yes!

How about you, friend? Do you have this same desire? Oh, may it be so! God sees you. What does He see? And how do you feel being seen by the Lord? Do you love Him with every ounce of your heart? Oh, may it most assuredly be so. And may you so very much desire that what He sees brings Him delight! AMEN!

Father, this message really touched me as I wrote it and again as I did a little edit of it. I am blown away by how much I learn and how exhilarated I feel writing the messages you give me. Yes, Lord, all glory to you. Lord, please send this message far and wide so it reaches every person around the world you desire to reach with it. Please Lord lead them to a beautiful, intimate, loving, ever-growing personal relationship with you. Help them to know and feel and experience your love. Help them desire to be seen by you. Lead them to repentance wherever and whenever they need it. Father, will you please bring to them the desire you have given me to please you beyond measure? Help them to live according to your ways for your glory. Help them to be compelled to do so by your indescribably wonderfully awesomely amazing love, oh Lord. AMEN!

“O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether. You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it. Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?…If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You. For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret,…Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!…Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139. Please read the entire psalm in the Bible as this is only a portion of it!)

#1 Priority in Raising Children

You may love your children beyond measure. You may raise them with values and morals. You may give them the best education possible. You may spend tons of time with them and make certain you share meals together and go on vacations as a family and do everything you have been taught good parents are supposed to do. You may make great sacrifices in raising them. You may be strict about their schoolwork and yet work hard to make sure they have plenty of fun when their homework is done. You may send them to the best summer camps and bring them up with the best of manners. You may work hard at your job to provide abundantly for your children. You may kiss them and hug them and make the yummiest of school lunches for them. But you can do every one of these things and even way more and still miss the #1 priority in raising children which sadly so very many parents in this modern day world are missing right now in child rearing.

The Lord Jesus Christ and the Bible should be at the forefront of your heart and life. Believing in and following the Lord Jesus Christ and making your relationship with the Lord and alone time with Him and the Bible daily should be your very highest priority in life. And your very highest priority in raising your children should be raising them to do the same.

Teach your children about the Lord Jesus Christ, share the Gospel message with them, encourage them to believe in and follow the Lord, read the Bible to them until they are old enough to read it themselves, and teach them the ways of the Lord according to the Bible not the ways of this world.

Teach them to be bold and courageous and to stand their ground in believing in and loving and obeying Jesus as Lord in a world in which so many are turned away from Him. Teach them to tell others about Jesus. Teach them to love Jesus with all their hearts and others as themselves. Model this to them. Seek and follow the Lord as He leads and empowers you in so doing!

May the Lord be your number one love. Never love your children more than you love Jesus. Teach them to love Jesus more than anything or anyone.

This is the right way to raise children. Do not compromise any of this. Do not allow anyone’s criticism, ridicule, rejection, hatred, judgment, or persecution or their refusal to do this to cause you to lay this counsel about raising your children aside. And teach your children to not let anyone’s criticism, ridicule, rejection, hatred, judgment, or persecution or their refusal to do this to cause them to lay aside their love for and steadfast commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Watch what the Lord will do in your heart and life and the hearts and lives of your children as you follow this counsel! Oh, glory be to the Lord! Raise the children the Lord has given you in this manner for the glory of Christ!

God, I am not a parent as you well know. But I know right from the Bible this is the right way to raise children in your eyes. Oh, how challenging this must be in this day and age, dear Father. Please dear God protect and strengthen all parents raising children according to your ways. Please help the children to stand strong in their faith in you and to honor their parents as they raise them the right way. For those children who do not yet believe, bring them to faith in you. Teach the parents to pray for their children, and the children to pray for their parents. And for the children who are believers in you, Lord, who have parents who are not, use the children to pray for and lead the parents to you, oh Lord! And in this case please Father send adults outside the family to offer loving support, prayer, and encouragement to the believing children whose parents don’t yet believe and use those adults Lord to help brings the parents into your forever fold!

Oh, God, families everywhere need you so desperately. Bring to repentance all parents raising their kids the wrong way. Send people who love and follow you to parents to walk alongside them. For all parents with children who have turned their backs on you, give them love, wisdom, comfort, patience, and direction in how to handle what they are going through. And please bring into the parents’ lives strong followers of you, Lord, to help these parents go through the gut-wrenching trials of having unbelieving or backslidden children. Oh, Lord, I could pray on and on. But instead, I will just end with this.

Please, Lord, for everyone who reads this, help them to be the parents and children you want them to be. Help them to be sold out to you and to model to this world how you intended godly parents and children to be, oh Father, oh Lord, oh God, please, oh yes!! Amen!

“”Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:4-9

“He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.” Matthew 10:37

“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Hurt By Christians

If you have ever been hurt by Christians, maybe you have experienced what I have. It doesn’t just hurt. It really, really, really hurts. Oh yes it does! Why does it seem to hurt so much more than it does when people who don’t believe in the Lord Jesus Christ hurt us? Most importantly, what should we do when it happens?

I am a 100% Jewish follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and wasn’t raised in church, around the Bible, nor around almost any people who talked about Jesus, the Bible, and following Him. So as a head over heels in love with the Lord devoted follower of His and who became such as an adult who has been hurt by Christians countless times since truly committing my life to Him, I am even more sensitive to the hurt. Ouch! I am also sensitive to begin with and always have been. Extra ouch!

Friend, the reason I believe it hurts so much more when we are hurt by Christians is that we place an expectation on and hope and trust in people who call themselves Christians that they will perfectly reflect the love and blessedness and goodness and kindness and all the rest of it of Christ Himself. We set ourselves up to be sorely disappointed and greatly hurt when we do this. Why?

The Lord is perfecting His ways in His followers and conforming us to Himself over the course of our lives since we first receive Him as Lord and Savior, BUT we are humans who are works in progress and if we are honest with ourselves need continual work as the Lord grows us in His image.

We should NOT put our expectation, trust, and hope in Christians. We should put our expectation, trust, and hope in THE LORD JESUS CHRIST! When we put our expectation, trust and hope in Christ instead of Christians, we will still be hurt at times. But the hurt will not take the same toll on us, and we can respond differently.

What then should we do when Christians hurt us?

DRAW NEAR TO THE LORD and POUR OUT OUR HEARTS TO HIM. As at any and all times, we need to find our love, hope, peace, comfort, compassion, wisdom, strength, healing, direction, mercy, grace, etc. IN JESUS!
Repent before God for any and all of our own wrongdoing in our thoughts, words, and actions and seek the forgiveness of anyone we may have hurt including the Christians who have hurt us!
Not judge! Not be prideful! Not be self-righteous! We need to remember we who follow Jesus also hurt others at times! We need to HUMBLE OURSELVES instead and work on our own selves by loving and obeying the Lord as He perfects His ways in us.
Love, forgive, and be merciful!
Pray for them!
Help them if and as the Lord leads us to follow the Lord!
PLEASE BE CAREFUL! I have talked to numerous people over the years who have turned their backs on the Lord Jesus Christ because they were hurt by Christians.

Please don’t mix up the wrongdoing of Christians with Jesus! The Lord is absolutely PERFECT and NEVER DOES WRONG and is HOLY and RIGHTEOUS!

And PLEASE DO NOT TURN AWAY FROM CHRISTIANS BECAUSE OF WHAT CHRISTIANS HAVE DONE WRONG! Love them, forgive them, encourage them, and help them to follow the Lord!

Hoping and trusting this helps! Amen!

Lord, this is such an incredibly hard subject at least it is for me. There are times I have wanted to run as fast as I can away from Christianity and Christians because of how badly and how often I have been hurt by them. But I refuse. That’s exactly what the devil wants! To divide the Body of Christ, your followers! To make us weak and destroy any unity we have. But you desire we be unified, oh Lord! One Body of Christ! And you desire we love!

You have kept me from running away! Father, please with all my heart I beg you to heal the hearts of any of my readers who have been wounded by Christians. Help them to love and forgive and be merciful and pray and help others to love and stop hurting people. Lord, we ALL need you. We all do wrong at times. None of us is perfect but you, oh Lord.

Lead us to repentance regarding our own wrongdoing, and show us when we need to go out and seek the forgiveness of others!

Help us not to be prideful but to humble ourselves instead. Oh God, how we need you! Please bring your Body of Christ to a place of total humility and teach us all to love, love, love as you do, oh Lord. Please help those of us who have been badly hurt not to put walls up around our hearts and be afraid to be close to people again because of how Christians have hurt us. For those who already have walls up, please Lord take them down. Give us the courage and boldness to LOVE others no matter how we are treated. Oh, God, we are in dire need of you in all this.

Please strengthen the Body of Christ. In your strength. Please help us to stop hurting each other. It’s like when soldiers in a war get confused and fight each other instead of the enemy. Help us to stop fighting each other. Oh, I could pray on and on with this subject. Lord, please put it on the hearts of my readers to pray and pray and pray for other Christians concerning these matters. Oh, Lord, thank you for hearing my cries, AMEN!

Draw all of us, Father, closer and closer to you, oh Lord! Yes, AMEN!

“”I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.” John 17:20-23

“But concerning brotherly love you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another;” 1 Thess. 4:9

“Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 7:12

“”For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14-15
