Good News Daily – December 21

TODAY’S LITTLE LETTER FROM LARA…….

Dear friend,

My paralyzed streets ministry doggy Mr. Simeon can be relentless when he wants attention. Just now, he was pawing at me over and again to get me to pet him and massage his neck. He wanted my love desperately. He was resolved and resolute in his pursuit of me.

We should be the same with the Lord, friend. He should so be the highest priority in our lives that we are relentless, resolved, and resolute in our pursuit of Him and the Bible. We should go all out in seeking Him and His ways and to live a life pleasing to Him.

Are we? Let us be!

TODAY’S UPDATE & PRAYER REQUEST

EXCITING NEWS!

Praise the Lord, I’m really excited to share with you that Walk by Faith Ministry is now GOOD NEWS MINISTRY! The name change has a few steps involved, so donations when in check form should still be written to Walk by Faith Ministry.

Why the change? Short version, in obedience to the Lord who placed it on my heart! Longer version, feel free to reach out & I’m happy to share!

In the meantime, did you know that GOSPEL means GOOD NEWS? There is no better good news in the world than that Jesus Christ is Lord, died on the cross to pay our sin penalty and was raised from the dead, and that all who turn from our sins, believing in Him as Lord and in His death and resurrection, turning to the Lord and His ways, are forgiven and given everlasting life.

Hallelujah! I am blessed, honored, and privileged to be called to spread the good news worldwide and to help people believe in and forever follow Jesus Christ as Lord! AMEN!

Prayers appreciated!

TODAY’S DAILY INSPIRATION

THE DOOR IS SHUT

“I delight to do Your will, O my God,…” Psalm 40:8

“The door is shut. Don’t open it,” the Holy Spirit broken into my thoughts as I walked down the New York City sidewalk.

I was wondering if I should do something when the Lord made His will abundantly clear. No!

I feel compelled to encourage you to seek the Lord before you start trying to open any doors in your life.

Sometimes the Lord opens doors that have been shut to fulfill a purpose He has, but other times He wants us to walk away from shut doors and keep them closed.

Let’s strive to fulfill His will, AMEN!

TODAY’S WISDOM FROM ABOVE

PLEASE FORGIVE ME LORD

“Have mercy upon me, O God,
According to Your lovingkindness;
According to the multitude of Your tender mercies,
Blot out my transgressions.” Psalm 51:1
“Please forgive me Lord for being distracted,” I prayed as I walked.

Simple prayer. Strong message. Not about distraction. About forgiveness.

We need it. Continually.

Repentance isn’t a one-time action we take when we place our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and turn our hearts and lives over to Him.

We are to seek and receive His forgiveness whenever His Holy Spirit brings the conviction of wrongdoing.

Need the Lord’s forgiveness? Seek and receive it!

I encourage you to read Psalm 51 in your Bible or when you CLICK HERE.

TODAY’S 365 BLESSINGS

365 BLESSINGS is a devotional book I wrote that is available in print by contacting me at 843-338-2219 or via lara@GoodNews.love.

Blessings 235

“knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,” Romans 6:6-8

Our new lives in Christ may not always look this way, but well they should. Our lives should look like we’re living for Christ. For that is precisely what we are called to do! Our old life – our old self – must be crucified with Jesus. Be gone, old life! Be gone, life of sin! Be gone, living for self, the devil, and this world! We are to be dead to self. And we are to continue to die to self. Day by day, death to self. Life for Christ. Live for Christ.

But this is not a way of life whereby we live at a distance from Jesus. We are now to live IN HIS FELLOWSHIP. IN RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM. COMMUNING WITH HIM. IN HIS COMPANY. Living for Jesus – and LIVING WITH JESUS! Goodbye, old life! Oh, the blessedness of learning to no longer live apart from Jesus which is the life of someone living for self in bondage to sin, but of now learning to live in Christ’s fellowship in surrender to almighty God, in the loving glorious company of Jesus Himself!

We shall live with Jesus forever, as the scripture says, when we receive Him as Lord and live for Him. But we need not wait until our lives are over to be with Jesus. The moment we turn from our sins and believe He died for us and was raised from the dead, the moment we turn our lives over to Him, the moment we are thereby born again spiritually with a clean slate because of God’s love, grace, and forgiveness, we begin living by faith with the Lord, AMEN!

Oh, the awesomeness of living in Jesus’ company forevermore! Now, by faith. One day, face to face. FOREVER! AMEN! Glory to you, oh Lord! Thank you for your indescribable love! Your mercy! Your grace! Forever, I love you, dear Lord! Help us to love you day by day the way you desire! Help us all to love you more than anything or anyone with all our hearts day in and day out every breath and step we take, dear Lord! Help us to bring glory and praise and joy to your name, oh Lord! AMEN! You have made it so we through you, Jesus, can live with you FOREVER! AMEN!

TODAY’S THE CROSS DEVOTIONAL

SMASHING PRIDE TO SMITHEREENS

“The fear of the Lord is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverse mouth I hate.” Proverbs 8:18

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,” 1 Peter 5:6

“Smash [the person’s]pride to smithereens,” I prayed for someone. The words had just come. And so did this message.

I found myself praying for someone else what the Lord had done with me. He took a sledgehammer to my pride and hardened heart over the years and is now teaching me day by day how to “clothe” myself in humility. Each time pride rears its despicable head in my life, His Spirit leads me to repent and humble myself before the Lord again.

Jesus despises pride and considers it an abomination, friend, so may we continually humble ourselves before God almighty!

TODAY’S SERVING JESUS IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE

DON’T LET HIM IN!”Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,” Ephesians 6:10-18

“But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:

“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” James 4:6-8

“Don’t let him in,” the Holy Spirit told me emphatically.

Who? Someone knocking at the door? No! The devil! He was coming at me hard as he had been on and off throughout the day as he has for decades in fact trying to destroy my life and ministry. Sadly, too many times I have listened to his lies and accusations and fallen prey to his tactics and ended up down, discouraged, depressed, anxious, disappointed, disgusted, and on and on.

I have wanted to quit life and ministry at worst, and at best I have been too miserable to do much in my life and ministry if anything at all. Each time, it has begun with letting the devil in. Letting his fiery darts penetrate my heart and mind and then reacting to his atrociousness.

One of the most important things we need to do in serving Jesus in our everyday lives is to submit to God and resist the devil by taking up and using the armor of God.

Don’t let him in!
