TODAY’S SERVING JESUS IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE DON’T LET HIM IN!”Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,” Ephesians 6:10-18 “But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” James 4:6-8 “Don’t let him in,” the Holy Spirit told me emphatically. Who? Someone knocking at the door? No! The devil! He was coming at me hard as he had been on and off throughout the day as he has for decades in fact trying to destroy my life and ministry. Sadly, too many times I have listened to his lies and accusations and fallen prey to his tactics and ended up down, discouraged, depressed, anxious, disappointed, disgusted, and on and on. I have wanted to quit life and ministry at worst, and at best I have been too miserable to do much in my life and ministry if anything at all. Each time, it has begun with letting the devil in. Letting his fiery darts penetrate my heart and mind and then reacting to his atrociousness. One of the most important things we need to do in serving Jesus in our everyday lives is to submit to God and resist the devil by taking up and using the armor of God. Don’t let him in! |
