TODAY’S LITTLE LETTER FROM LARA……….

Dear friend, …….

Did you know when Jesus was born in Bethlehem that gifts were given – TO HIM? Isn’t it something how the holiday was turned around whereby we give gifts – TO EACH OTHER?

The Bible makes clear we are to offer ourselves to the Lord! He doesn’t want from us gold, frankincense, and myrrh as the wise men brought to Him when he was born, but He wants our very hearts and lives fully devoted to Him!

Give yourself to Jesus, friend, give yourself utterly to Him!

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1

TODAY’S UPDATE & PRAYER REQUEST

I’ve been letting stuff go recently. Giving stuff away. Throwing stuff away. Letting stuff go. Not just physical stuff. It’s like I’ve been carrying a whole bunch of extra weight and it’s time to shed it. The more I let go of what I need to let go, the more room I have for Jesus and His will for my life. I have sensed for some time now that the Lord is significantly growing me right now in my heart, life, and ministry. And, most importantly, in my personal relationship with Him. I am so excited! The more I love Jesus, the more I want to please and follow Him. The growth is a fundamental part, I believe, of how He is growing what is now called GOOD NEWS MINISTRY.

Please pray for me, the ministry’s handicapped doggies, and all those the Lord is reaching around the world through my heart, life, and ministry. All for the glory of Christ, AMEN!

TODAY’S DAILY INSPIRATION

MAKE ROOM FOR THE NEW

“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” Philippians 4:4

Letting go isn’t always necessarily just an end. It can also be a beautiful new beginning. One day I found myself feeling strongly compelled to let go of something I had lots of in my ministry.

Did this mean something was coming to an end and I should grieve over it? Something was indeed coming to an end – because I was just starting out in something wonderfully new the Lord had placed on my heart.

I want to encourage you if you’re in the midst of some serious letting go or have some letting go to do that is clearly the Lord’s will for you to do not to get caught up in and consumed by grieving over what has or is coming to an end. But instead to seek the Lord for the strength to let go and for His will regarding a possible new beginning as you follow Him forth!

I used to get swallowed up in the grief of letting go and loss and often missed the excitement, hope, thrill, and joy of what awaited me as the Lord led me forward. In fact, I often put on my brakes and refused to go forward at all! I have learned to be excited about all the possibilities ahead as I follow the Lord day in and day out.

Time to make room for the new? Seek the Lord, friend, and follow Him forth!

DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT

HAVE YOU TURNED AWAY?

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

Have you turned away from the Lord? Are you justifying it with any and all sorts of excuses? If you have turned away, turn back to Him now. Now is the time. If the Spirit of God is moving on your heart to turn back, turn, turn, turn back to the Lord. Amen!

TODAY’S WISDOM FROM ABOVE

HOW TO TELL THE TRUTH

“But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.” 2 Peter 2:1-3

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4

When I was under false teaching, I was taught that a cold isn’t a cold unless you called it a cold. Something didn’t exist unless you said it existed. If you said something didn’t exist, it didn’t exist. You could have anything you wanted if you spoke it into existence. You could name anything and claim anything you desired. The Lord was your butler, and He was at your beck and call. Oh, what a tragedy! False, false, false teaching!

I fell for the whole thing hook, line, and sinker – for years! Then the Lord delivered me from it all by His Spirit through the truth of His Word.

False teaching abounds even in the churches, there are all kinds of it, and we need to be exceedingly careful not to fall for anything that does not line up with the truth of the Bible. The most full-proof way we can avoid the pitfalls and dangers of false teaching is to continually study the Bible which will among many other things help us tell the true from the false.

Do you read the Bible daily?

TODAY’S 365 BLESSINGS

365 BLESSINGS is a devotional book I wrote that is available in print by contacting me at 843-338-2219 or via lara@GoodNews.love.

Blessing 236

“For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.” Romans 6:10-13

Jesus the Christ died on the cross and was raised from the dead! Glory be to the Lord! We are to be dead to sin and alive to Jesus! Glory be to the Lord who enables us to do this! Who gives us the power day by day to turn away from our sins and to live utterly for Him! Who gives us love, grace, peace, hope, mercy, compassion, comfort, power, wisdom, and all we need day by day to live for Him and no longer for this world, for ourselves, and for the devil!

Sin is no longer to be on the throne of our lives! Jesus is to be our forever Lord! Forever King! Forever God! Forever Father! We are no longer to be instruments of sin. No longer to be vessels of sin. No longer to be containers of sin. No longer to be in bondage to sin. No longer to bow down to sin and the devil. No longer to bow down to our flesh. We are to be “INSTRUMENTS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS”.

To what? To whom? TO GOD! For what? For whom? FOR GOD! We are to live righteously! We are to live in a manner that brings love, praise, joy, honor, adoration, worship, and glory to the Lord! God gives us the ability to be so transformed that we are now such instruments of His righteousness. That we learn to no longer bear the fruit of ungodliness. That we learn now day in and day out to bear the fruit of righteous living. Of right living. Of godly living. So we bring joy to the Lord!

What a transformation to which the Lord calls us! What a transformation enabled by the Lord! What a blessing that we can live well, and abundantly, in humble, loving, obedient devotion to the Lord, AMEN!

TODAY’S THE CROSS DEVOTIONAL

ARE WE LISTENING?

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” John 10:27

“When Jesus says something, we need to listen,” I told the ministry’s handicapped streets ministry doggies in my little sing-song-y doggies voice.

I was just chit-chatting away, but the message came loud and clear. For me, for you, for us all.

When the Lord Jesus Christ speaks to us through the Bible or by His Spirit to our hearts personally in line with the Bible, we need to listen and obey. But are we?

For years, I was a believer in Jesus but not a listener and not a follower.

Followers listen and obey.

See the verse above? The Lord’s sheep don’t just hear His voice. They follow Him!

Are you?

TODAY’S SERVING JESUS IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE

NO DOUBTING, NO OBJECTION”While Peter thought about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are seeking you. Arise therefore, go down and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them.”

Then Peter went down to the men who had been sent to him from Cornelius, and said, “Yes, I am he whom you seek. For what reason have you come?”” Acts 10:19-21

“Therefore I came without objection as soon as I was sent for. I ask, then, for what reason have you sent for me?”” Acts 10:29

Notice the language used to describe the apostle Peter’s mission to go to Cornelius and his relatives and friends to preach the Gospel to them. Most importantly, he was sent by the Spirit of God. The language? “Doubting nothing”, and he “came without objection as soon as I was sent for.”

Friend, this is key to serving the Lord. That we be SENT BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD, that we DOUBT NOTHING concerning His instructions to us, and that we COME WITHOUT OBJECTION. It’s all about trust and obedience, isn’t it?

Oh, may it be so!
