TODAY’S LITTLE LETTER FROM LARA

Dear friend,

I wrote a message to the Lord this morning and felt compelled to share it.

I don’t want to neglect you dear Jesus!

This is such a busy world, isn’t it? And such a busy time of year!

NOTHING and NOBODY should be a greater priority in our hearts and lives than the Lord Jesus Christ and the Bible.

Let’s keep our priorities in order no matter how busy we may find ourselves. JESUS FIRST!

Let us not neglect the Lord! May He be our number one forever!

“Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment.” Matthew 22:37

love & blessings,

TODAY’S DAILY INSPIRATION

PARALYZED DOGGY’S BEDPAN – INSPIRATION!

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:2-4

“Help me to do this with a spirit of excellence,” I told the Lord as I held paralyzed Mr. Simeon over his makeshift bed pan.

Can you imagine helping two paralyzed doggies go to the bathroom day and night FOR YEARS without a single day off? My attitude and behavior with my countless rescued dogs through the years given the exceeding responsibilities involved and my propensity to sin when I am not careful has at times been so appalling it’s a wonder the Lord’s mercy hasn’t run out. But His mercy continues, He forgives me when I repent, and He is teaching me through it all. To have in His love and strength the right attitude and actions.

EVERYTHING THE LORD CALLS US TO DO – no matter how big or small, easy or hard – should be done with a spirit of excellence – and repentance when needed!

DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT

GOOD, GRACIOUS, & GENEROUS

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.” Psalm 23:6

“You are so good, gracious, and generous with me,” I wrote to the Lord in my early morning time alone with Him.

I love words. Loved the sound of that. Three “G” words. Four really. GOOD, GRACIOUS. GENEROUS. GOD!

Please take time daily to express your thanksgiving to the Lord. For He is so good! So gracious! So generous! So glorious!

Another “g” word. Glorious! Oh, how glorious is the Lord! Forever and ever, YES!

TODAY’S 365 BLESSINGS

365 BLESSINGS is a devotional book I wrote that is available in print by contacting me at 843-338-2219 or via lara@GoodNews.love.  Blessings #213-219

“For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;” Colossians 1:9

The apostle Paul and Timothy communicating to the believers in Christ in Colosse share with them – and with us all these years later! – that they have prayed to the Lord to fill them with knowledge of His will for them. They pray for God to give them wisdom and to understand spiritually what the Lord reveals to them in the way of His will.

Friend, imagine if we prayed that same prayer now for fellow believers in Jesus and for ourselves. And well we should, shouldn’t we? After all, Jesus Christ is LORD. And we SHOULD know the Lord’s will for us so we can FULFILL the Lord’s will for us! The blessing in this? How about the blessing-s? Yes, multiple blessings. Oh, the Lord’s blessings just go on and on, don’t they?

First, that we can pray for one another and ourselves. Second, that the Lord hears our prayers. Third, He answers our prayers. Fourth, He wants us to know His will for us so we can pursue the fulfillment of His will. Fifth, He will make known to us His will for us in whatever way He desires. We simply need to seek Him and hear Him – and then obey Him!

Sixth, He will give us wisdom – and, yes, “spiritual understanding.” The Lord will not leave us in the dark concerning His will for our lives. Sure, we might need to wait patiently for His reply. But we most assuredly can – and should – seek Him and His will for us so we can live in love for and obedience to Him!

That’s six more blessings, friend! Oh, praise the Lord! Blessing after blessing after blessing – and more blessings in the Lord’s Word!

TODAY’S THE CROSS DEVOTIONAL

CAN THEY SEE JESUS IN YOU?

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

I was so humbled and excited when a beloved brother in the Lord reached out to me sharing the raw, deep, enormous need he and his wife had and letting me know essentially it would be okay to reach out and minister to them.

Did he reach out because I’m wonderful, special, an expert, incredible, etc.? BY NO MEANS! I believe He sees Jesus in me – fruit borne from all the alone time I have spent with Jesus and the Bible through the years and the mighty way the Lord is working in and through my life as He grows me in His image.

Let us surrender ourselves entirely to the lordship, love, and will of the Lord, and may others be drawn to Him because they see Jesus in and through us. AMEN!

TODAY’S SERVING JESUS IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE“And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.” So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. And many more believed because of His own word.

Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”” John 4:39-42

In the story of the woman at the well (please read it in John 4), people became believers in the Lord in some cases because of what the woman told them about Jesus and in other cases because of what Jesus Himself said.

When we share the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ, people may believe because of the words the Lord gives us to speak or because we point them to the Bible and they read the words of Jesus Himself.

Let’s tell people about Jesus, and let’s point them to the Bible. May the Spirit of God lead us in both.
