Dear friend,

As much as I’ve been doing lots of writing recently, I don’t want to miss any opportunities to be out on the streets doing my ministry work there when He wants me outside instead of inside. The Lord blessed me today, Saturday, with a wonderful walk in the cold fresh air with the wheelchair doggies passing out Gospel tracts. Then another walk later on my own passing out some more tracts and finding two men on a bench who were talking about the Lord. I joined in, and then I was privileged to be able to pray for them. Also had an awesome talk with my Mom on the phone who doesn’t yet believe in Jesus but who listened to me talk to her about all the amazing changes the Lord has made in me over the years. I thank the Lord for His endless blessings.

Thanks for your continued prayers!

love & blessings,

Dear friend,

Today several people commented on how my wheelchair dogs are so content despite their disabilities and how we people can essentially so easily fall into complaining and self-pity with our own struggles. I shared how much time I’ve spent complaining in my life which is sin against God and how hard I’m working to be thankful and positive instead.

Thanksgiving doesn’t begin and end on the annual American holiday. It is to be a way of life for the Christ follower.

A reminder for us all. Let’s be thankful to the Lord!

“in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

love & blessings,

Awesomeness of a Fresh Start

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

Less than ½ an hour into a new day, still dark out, much of New York City probably still sleeping. I was still groggy. Ready for alone time with Jesus. Paralyzed Mr. Simeon spilled his smelly food on my bed. Ugh. I reacted. Snappy. Irritable. Cranky. Mean. Then the Lord got a hold of me. I repented.

“Please give me a fresh start,” I prayed.

I knew my heavenly Father would. Based on His Word.

Ever consider how amazing it is God almighty through Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection and our faith in Him will give us a fresh start when we are genuinely sorry over our sins and turn back to Him? How often I have taken this for granted!

How awesome the Lord forgives us when we confess our sins to Him with true remorse. Thank you Lord! Forgive me for ever taking this for granted!

Need a fresh start? Turn to Jesus! Repent!

The Woman & the “P” Words“And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”

But He answered her not a word.

And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.”

But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”

But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”

And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”

Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.” Matthew 15:22-28

PATIENCE. PERSEVERANCE. PERSISTENCE. Why did Jesus honor and recognize the FAITH of the woman in the Bible with the demon-possessed daughter considering she never once said, “I believe in you, Jesus!”?

The Lord showed me she did not give up until Jesus answered her cries. His silence, the disciples’ advice to send her away, and then His initial refusal DID NOT STOP HER. She knew Jesus was the only answer. So she was patient. She persevered. She persisted. Then Jesus responded to her faith.

When we are seeking something from the Lord that IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH HIS WILL, we need to practice all three. PATIENCE. PERSEVERANCE. PERSISTENCE. Faith PRACTICES (a 4th “p” word) all three, doesn’t it?

Blessing #220

““Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
And whose sins are covered;
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.””
Romans 4:7-8

This verse makes abundantly clear the blessing contained within. WE ARE FORGIVEN OF OUR SINS BY GOD ALMIGHTY AND ARE NOT PUNISHED WITH HELL AND THE LAKE OF FIRE FOREVER APART FROM GOD as a result of them BECAUSE OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. Because Jesus died on the cross for us and was raised from the dead. Because He took God’s wrath at us for our sins and our punishment on Himself. Because He stood in our place. Because He was our atonement. Because He is the perfect lamb of God. The perfect sacrifice. Because He did everything that needed to be done for us to be set free when we turn from our sins and believe in Him as Lord.

Knowing that true belief comes with truly turning our lives over to Him as Savior, Lord, master, King, and Father, redeemer, healer. Forever Lord! Oh, blessed, blessed, blessed are we to have our sins forgiven by God which enables us to have a forever relationship with Him. Which enables us to live forever in heaven with Jesus! Oh, hallelujah! Glory be to the Lord most high, almighty God! Jesus, Lord, Jesus, oh, thank you Lord! You are God forever, AMEN!

“Therefore comfort [encourage in some versions including ESV, NASB, and NIV]and each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

One of my favorite things to do in life is to encourage people. Specifically to believe in the Lord, to follow the Lord, to love and worship the Lord, to be fully devoted to the Lord, to live for the Lord, absolutely anything to do with the Lord – including to pursue His specific will for their lives.

Serving the Lord in our everyday lives is not simply about the physical, practical, tangible ways to use our hands and feet to help others in His name. It’s also very much about using our hearts to love, to encourage, and to pray for others in His name.

Need encouragement? Seek it from the Lord, the Bible, and His beloved children. Know someone who needs encouragement? Please encourage those who need it. All for the glory of the Lord, AMEN!
