Good News Daily – Tuesday September 29

Dear friend,

Hope you’re ready for loads of love & encouragement & inspiration. Below please find FOUR MESSAGES. If you can’t read them all in one sitting, perhaps you can print them out for later or maybe mark them in your email inbox to read if and when the Lord leads you to do so!

Titles are:

love & blessings,

Your Focus

Some of us have a tendency to focus on the past and even to become consumed with it. Others tend to focus on the future and even to become consumed with it. Some tend to do both, ever moving back and forth in our minds from the past to the future and back to the past again. Others do a good job of staying in the present. The most important place of all to focus is ON THE LORD, ON THE BIBLE, and ON HIS WILL for our lives! If we are not careful, we can become so consumed with the past, with the future, and even with the circumstances, situations, people, places, things, challenges, schedules, agendas, appointments, and blessings of our day-to-day lives in the present that we neglect the most important focus of all needs to be ON THE LORD, on HIS WORD, on HIS WILL, and on HIS WAYS!

Friend, as vital as it is that we focus on the present to a reasonable degree anyway and not to get swallowed up with thinking about the past or future, most vital of all is that we don’t become so consumed with our everyday lives and with the world around us that we lose our primary focus which needs to be on the Lord Jesus Christ!

This world is temporary. Ultimately we will end up in heaven forever with the Lord through repentance and faith in Him as Lord and in His death and resurrection and in our lives being devoted to Him or in hell and the lake of fire in forever torment apart from Him because we rejected Him and remained in our sin-ridden lives with our backs turned on Him.

Even now, even in our time remaining on this earth, we must make the Lord and the Bible and His will and ways our highest priority in our focus as He by His Spirit leads those of us who believe in and follow Him forth!

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;…” Hebrews 12:2

Watch your focus. When you find your focus is wrong, change it! Look to the Lord, oh, yes, look to Him! Look to the Bible! And follow His lead day by day and forever and ever, oh yes!

May these verses encourage you to be diligent in focusing on the Lord!

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Colossians 3:1-2

This verse is so encouraging to me in reminding me WHO must be the number one object of my focus. Note whom we should BEHOLD:

“And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!” John 1:36

And some encouragement for focusing on the Bible:

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalms 119:105

And beautiful inspiration for remembering to focus our hearts on the Lord:

“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:21

May the Lord be our greatest treasure! May He be number one in our hearts! And number one as far as our focus is concerned!

Future Focused?

For those of us prone to worry and/or prone to getting really excited about where we are going in life, we may find ourselves hyper focused on the future. In other words, too focused on the future. The Holy Spirit said to me one day:

“But you are here now and you will miss what I have for you here if you focus on where you are going,” He spoke to my heart.

Confession. I am prone to worry which is sin and needs to be purged from our hearts and lives, I am prone to getting enormously excited about where the Lord is leading me in ministry and in future locations since I’m on the road for Him full-time, and I have a history of looking back and getting stuck in the past. Losing track of the present and missing what the Lord desires I do in loving, worshiping, and serving Him in the present is way too easy for someone like me, and I need to be ever careful not to miss the present and the Lord’s will for me day by day most importantly to love and serve Him with all my heart.

I needed and continue to need the reminder the Lord gave me that day. Do you?

“Take therefore no thought [also be anxious per Strong’s concordance]for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Matthew 6:34

I am encouraged also in considering that when Jesus taught His disciples to pray, He told them to pray for manna for the rest of their lives, right? Wrong! He told them to pray for manna FOR TODAY. Now you might consider manna as simply food for eating. Please remember Jesus calls Himself the “bread of life” (John 6:48). We need Jesus each and every day. Starting with TODAY. A good reminder to not lose today and the opportunities the Lord gives us in this day because we get swept away in the future!

“Give us this day our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11

The Lord also emphasizes the importance of TODAY when He tells us we need to deny ourselves and take up our crosses DAILY as we follow Him forth!

“And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Luke 9:23

Don’t Discourage Them!

DON’T DISCOURAGE PEOPLE FROM DOING THE WILL OF THE LORD. Note in the following verses the reference made to people discouraging the Israelites from doing God’s will and possessing the promised land He called them to enter into. You can read the full story in the books of Numbers and Deuteronomy, but this message isn’t about them and what happened. It’s about us and the fact we are called to LOVE AND ENCOURAGE AND HELP AND SUPPORT ONE ANOTHER IN BELIEVING IN, SEEKING, AND FOLLOWING THE LORD. And it is about NOT DISCOURAGING PEOPLE FROM FOLLOWING HIM AND FULFIILLING HIS WILL FOR THEIR LIVES!

“And wherefore discourage ye the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD hath given them?” Numbers 32:7

“Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims there.” Deuteronomy 1:28

Since the Lord called me some years ago to go out onto the road full-time for Him and ministry, people have tried at times to discourage me from doing God’s will instead of to encourage me. I myself in my pride, worry, selfishness, etc. have at times also discouraged people from doing God’s will. This is wrong, friend, and we must repent when we find we have done this and go forth doing our very best to love and encourage others to lovingly, humbly, faithfully follow the Lord and to fulfill His will for their lives each and every day and forevermore, AMEN!

The more I love, worship, adore, praise, serve, obey, and live to glorify the Lord, the more I read the Bible, the more I surrender myself to the will and leading of God’s Holy Spirit, the more I find myself loving and encouraging others as He desires us to do. Sometimes the Lord leads us to challenge and confront people with His truth when they are off course, but still this is to be done in His love and can be done in an encouraging way! Let us encourage others, my friend, to love and serve the Lord with all their hearts while we live to do the very same!

When God Carries His Kids

Oh, how the Lord comforts and blesses my heart when He speaks in the Bible of carrying His children! May He comfort and bless you in the reading of this verse as well, and may you be inspired to look back at your life at the times the Lord has carried you and to be thankful to Him and to praise Him for doing so!

“And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the LORD thy God bare [also “lift” and “carry” per Strong’s concordance]thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place.” Deuteronomy 1:31

Moses is reminding the Israelites whom He led out of bondage in Egypt how the Lord carried them through the trials and tribulations of the wilderness in an effort to comfort and encourage them, and I am compelled to comfort and encourage you with these same words as you face your own trials and tribulations in life.

Just as Moses encourages the people to look back and remember how the Lord lovingly cared for them and carried them in their tough times, I encourage you to look back at your own life and remember and give praise to God for How he carried you through challenging times.

As you face trials now and/or in the future, please do not forget how the Lord in His lovingkindness and mercy carried you in times past. Surrender yourself entirely to the Lord and His will and ways continually, and cry out to Him to carry you once more! Remembering always to give Him glory, praise, and honor each and every day for His phenomenally blessed most wonderful glorious LOVE and for His endless blessings! Oh, hallelujah, AMEN!
