Goodbye Santa Claus!

This may seem like the most obvious thing in the world to you, but I am strongly compelled by God to share this message.

God is not Santa Claus. And for anyone who may be living and acting and praying like God is Santa Claus, it is time to say goodbye to this way of living and praying.

And lest you think there is anything funny about this message, there is not. I could not be more serious about this.

Countless people, myself included for some years, go to God like children in a shopping mall sitting on Santa Claus’ lap with their Christmas wish list totally convinced Santa Claus WILL and SHOULD get them everything they want for Christmas. And if Santa Claus does not get them everything they want, they may well have a temper tantrum, feel sorry for themselves, and be thoroughly disappointed in and angry at and hurt by and unthankful to Santa Claus.

I was under the dangerous false prosperity gospel teaching for quite some time under which I essentially was taught if I had enough faith and waved my magic wand God would give me anything and everything I wanted. I was not at all pleased with God when He did not meet my expectations and desires. Praise God He led me to repentance, set me free from false teaching, and has been teaching me the truth of the Bible ever since.

It is not just those under false teaching that act and pray this way. There are plenty of people who study the Bible, are hearing the truth of the Bible preached to them, and are still living like God is Santa Claus. Friend, I am here to tell you this needs to stop. Any and all who live like this need to repent. Just like I did.

Consider this a call to repentance if you have been living and praying like God is Santa Claus!

There is nothing wrong with asking God for what we want, but we need to do so with HUMILITY, TRUST, and THANKSGIVING for however He chooses to answer our prayers. He ALWAYS knows best. And we should NOT treat God like Santa Claus. We should humble ourselves before the Lord God almighty and love and serve the Lord with every ounce of our hearts all the while praising, thanking, and blessing the Lord Jesus Christ each and every day regardless of how the Lord answers our prayers!

Goodbye Santa Claus. Jesus Christ is Lord! Let us live and pray like He is! Amen!

May the following verses encourage you!

Please note that Jesus Son of God before He went to the cross prayed to God the Father with total surrender to His will just as we should be humbly and wholly yielded to God and His perfect will!

“saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”” Luke 22:42 NKJV

“In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:9-10 NKJV

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” 1 John 5:14-15 NKJV

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 NKJV
