His Will Be Done

I was having one of those mornings. A beautiful, wonderful one really. But I was tired from my usual poor sleep at night and a long week so far of ministry work. I was starting to get irritable. Soon enough I’d fall into sin with my attitude and Lord only knows where I was headed with my mouth and actions. Thankfully, I went to my knees in prayer.  Then I said the oddest thing considering my long history of praying according to my own will and to what I figured was best. It wasn’t just odd. It was wonderful. Oh, how the Lord has transformed me! He has taught me how to pray! He has given me a heart for His will instead of my own.

“Your will be done! Your will be done! Your will be done!” Over and again. The very same words. Nothing more than this. Then I was done. I knew who knows what is best for me. The Lord!

Friend, we are not to pray according to our will. We are to pray for His. He teaches us His will in the Bible, He speaks to our hearts personally by His Spirit in line with the Bible to reveal His will to us, and His very Spirit living inside those of us who follow Him can lead us in prayer.

When was the last time you prayed for God’s will? Do you read the Bible daily and pray according to His will? Do you spend quiet time with the Lord seeking His will for you personally and pray in accordance with it? Cry out to the Lord, friend, and remember HIS WILL IS ALWAYS BEST! He is God almighty, Lord of Lords, King of Kings, forever God, perfect Lord with His perfect will for His Creation.

Pray for His will for His glory, and live according to His will for your life to love and glorify Him!

Father, help us to pray in accordance with your will! May your will be done, Lord. Your will be done, yes, your will be done! AMEN!

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” 1 John 5:14-15

“So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.” Luke 11:2

“”Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” Mathew 7:21
