Hold Onto Jesus!

The Lord Jesus Christ makes abundantly clear in the Bible that we WILL have tribulations in this life. But He promises those who turn away from our sins, believe in Him as Lord and in His death and resurrection, truly dedicating our lives to God and His ways, receive His forgiveness and the promise of an everlasting relationship with Him instead of forever in hell and the lake of fire. In receiving Him as Lord and genuinely devoting our lives to Him, no longer living for self but now living for Him, we enter into what with our total devotion can be an astoundingly amazingly awesomely wonderfully beautifully preciously gloriously personal and intimate ever-growing, ever-deepening, richly satisfying, fulfilling-beyond-description relationship with Him. When? RIGHT NOW RIGHT HERE ON THIS EARTH even in the midst of our trials and tribulations! AND forever and ever in what will be the new heavens and the new earth (in what many typically call “heaven”)! What does all this have to do with holding onto Jesus?

Friend, I was broken beyond human hope and repair for decades. I still struggle every single day of my life with one challenge or another. It has been brutal the ongoing trials and tribulations I have faced for decades. But in the midst of it all I have surrendered myself 100% to the Lord, to His will for my life, to His ways, and to a personal relationship with Him so stunningly phenomenally breathtakingly lovely and tender and exciting and rewarding and precious and priceless and matchless and ever-growing that I have learned to run into His arms, into His embrace, into His hold, into His fellowship, into His presence when feeling overwhelmed with the trials of this life.

I have learned no matter the struggles and troubles and challenges I face day by day to hold onto Jesus with all my heart and strength! Bringing absolutely everything to Him, all of me, my joys, victories, thanksgiving, questions, needs, hopes, hurts, tears, emotions, fears, worries, problems, trials, need for forgiveness, desire for help, desperation for comfort and compassion and rest, absolutely everything! Oh, how I have learned to hold onto Jesus! Have you?

In Him, in fellowship with Him, in time alone with Him, in His hold, in holding onto Jesus, I find an ever-flowing fountain, an endless well, of love, peace, hope, joy, rejoicing, freedom, wholeness, healing, comfort, compassion, wisdom, friendship, companionship, and on and on His presence and His blessings go. Each and every day, I spend time in His presence. Not just once daily, not just twice daily at certain times, but throughout the day and night I spend time in His presence, calling on His name, praying to Him, reading the Bible and thinking about it, seeking Him, hearing Him, pouring out my heart to Him, learning from Him, learning of Him, receiving His love, healing, comfort, care, etc.

Friend, Jesus never promised us an easy life. For some of us, our lives may be harder than imagination. For others of us, our trials may come and go. But the reality is we all face trials and tribulations of one sort or another. While there will be no pain, no hurt, no brokenness, no disease, no dying, no violence, no abuse, no tears, no evil, etc. in heaven, here on this earth we have it all. But do not lose heart! Because when we have surrendered our hearts and lives to the Lord Jesus Christ, we can hold onto Him day and night and find love, rest, peace, and joy and so very much more in Him and through Him that nothing and nobody on this earth can take from us and with which nothing and nobody can possibly compare. When we have devoted our lives to Him, we are His and He is ours forevermore! And we can hold onto Jesus for dear life! Oh, yes we can! Hallelujah indeed!

Oh, hold onto Jesus! Hold onto the Lord! Oh, yes!
