Holy Spirit Hydration

Jesus told the woman at the well she would never thirst again if she had His “living water.” Friend, it is terribly dangerous to become dehydrated. Our bodies and minds become unable to work and live properly, and ultimately we can die. I am afraid many who call themselves Christians know little and sometimes even nothing about the Holy Spirit and are dangerously dehydrated. So their hearts, minds, bodies, and lives aren’t working the way the Lord intended them to work as His followers.

I visited a church once in which the place was like a morgue filled with dead bodies. The people sang along with the choir, but they seemed dry and even lifeless. The pastor taught much on the Bible but from what I knew of him didn’t seem to give much credence to the vital necessity of the work of the person of the Holy Spirit in and through our lives at least in terms of some aspects of the Holy Spirit anyway. God manifests as God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Sometimes people become so focused on one or even two and forget the third manifestation of God. Oftentimes the one forgotten is the Holy Spirit. Yes, God’s very own Spirit who inhabits His children!

I myself at times have been focused on God the Father and not enough on Jesus and the Holy Spirit, or on Jesus and not enough on the Father and the Holy Spirit. We must remember all three! And most assuredly not leave out the Holy Spirit!

Have you done a deep study of the Holy Spirit in the Bible? Oh, please do! I have. And I continue to look out for any and all mentions of Him in the Bible. And I have read the work of long ago well respected biblically sound evangelists and missionaries who lived and preached in the fulness of the love, power, boldness, comfort, teaching, and leading of the Holy Spirit of God. In so very many of the churches whose services I have attended, I have heard little to no mention of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit lives inside all His followers, but if we haven’t already we can ask for the gift, or baptism, of the Holy Spirit whereby the Holy Spirit is poured into us and we are given the boldness and courage and all we need to tell the world about Jesus.

We are to live filled with and led by the Holy Spirit. Are you?

Father, please teach my readers about your Holy Spirit, and please teach me more about your Holy Spirit. Save any readers who are not saved and fill them with your Spirit. Fill us all afresh with your Holy Spirit over again and again, oh Lord. Lead us all by your Holy Spirit day by day and forevermore! Please rid us of any and all false teaching, Lord, as I know some false teaching concerns the Holy Spirit. Thank you, dear Lord, Amen!

“Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”…Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
John 4:10-14

“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.”
John 7:38-39

“For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.” 1 John 5:7
