We are all called to love and serve God and others. But in a world in which more than ever we are taught to love and serve ourselves we may find ourselves sadly lacking when it comes to loving service to the Lord Jesus Christ and others.
The Lord does not teach us in the Bible to be self-loving, self-centered, self-seeking, and self-serving. In fact, Jesus teaches us to deny self, to take up our crosses, and to follow Him.
Jesus is our perfect role model when it comes to dying to self and living to serve God the Father and others instead.
How are you serving God and others? Pray to God for His will and follow Him as He leads you forth!
“just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”” Matthew 20:28 NKJV
“Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” Luke 9:23 NKJV
“For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” Galatians 5:13 NKJV
