I Hate New Year’s Resolutions!

I hate New Year’s resolutions because I believe we set high expectations, set ourselves up for disappointment and even possible failure, because we put pressure on ourselves, because we tend to forget them or give up on them not long after we make them, because I believe many of us leave God out of them, and most of all for this single reason.

To be a totally devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, to be a true believer in God, we should be focused on Jesus today, on loving and serving the Lord with all our hearts today, on living in obedience to God today, on seeking and following Him today, on praying to and praising God today, on fulfilling God’s will for us today, on rejoicing in Jesus today, on abiding in Him today, on going all out loving, worshiping, and glorifying God TODAY! And ALWAYS!

One day at a time, never mind the whole next year, we should humbly and faithfully and joyfully and lovingly follow Jesus with all our hearts. Day by day, 24 hours at a time, we should devotedly follow the Lord as the Holy Spirit leads us forth!

“This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalms 118:24 NKJV
