I Was Born to Do This

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Eph. 2:10

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” Rev. 4:11

I was born to do this. I am 100% certain I am now doing what God created me to do. But this isn’t about me. It’s about you. What were you born to do? What did God create you to do? Do you know? Are you doing right now in life what He created you for? Trying to figure it out? Gave up trying? Or have never even considered it? You might be surprised by how many people are trying to figure out their life’s purpose. Maybe you’re one of those people. Or maybe you know someone who is. Maybe you could use some encouragement. Or you know someone who could.

I was born to be an evangelist and writer. I walked a long, hard, road broken to get to this place in life. To not only know my life’s purpose, but to be fulfilling it day by day. I am in awe that the Lord took someone as lost and broken and hopeless and as off track as I was and brought me to where I am, into His Kingdom as a Christ follower, into a forever relationship with Him, and into my life’s purpose. How delighted I am that part of my life’s purpose is to help others to find and fulfill theirs.

What were you born to do? We were ALL created to love and worship God forever through faith in Christ. We were ALL created to help others find and follow Christ to help build God’s forever Kingdom. And we ALL have an individual, unique, personal calling from God for which He equips and trains us to love and worship Him forever, to help build His Kingdom, and to glorify Him. To find our unique calling, the one He has for each of us, as a beloved pastor once told me, we need to first find the Lord, then find us in Him, then find our purpose for Him. Our genuine life’s purpose is in the context of the Lord, and we need a rock solid relationship with God through Christ, our hearts and lives devoted to Christ, to God and His ways, to find and achieve it. For God’s glory.

What were YOU born to do? To love and worship God forever through Christ. To help people find and follow Christ to help build God’s Kingdom. To find and fulfill the individual purpose God has for you which will always be in the context of loving and worshiping God and helping to build His Kingdom and to glorify Him. How do you find your specific calling? Begin by repenting and believing in Christ as Lord and devoting your life to Him. Continue by being continually filled with His Spirit and studying and living by His Word. Carry on by seeking the Lord in prayer, trusting Him to lead you forth.
