Almost as soon as I just minutes ago plunked down on the massive dog bed with my beloved ministry dogs paralyzed Miss Mercy and special needs Gracie in my latest hotel room on the road for Jesus, this thought came to me.
Jesus is holding me up!
Despite how unbelievably exhausted I am, I dragged myself up off the dog bed where I could have fallen asleep cuddled with my sweet dogs to come write this message. About when Jesus holds us up!
Amid major transition in my life and ministry, after decades of seemingly relentless trials, still in the thick of struggles, having recently witnessed the second biggest miracle of my life and as I experience the bittersweet emotions that come with it, coming face to face with something today I knew might come one day that is indescribably tragic and unfathomably painful, so worn out by my life story I could quit in a heartbeat if it were not for the Lord Jesus Christ, and immeasurably tired from praying my heart out, this thought came to me.
Jesus is holding me up!
By the love, grace, mercy, peace, hope, joy, fellowship, kindness, tenderness, power, wisdom, beauty, glory, and friendship of God alone, I am not falling, breaking into a zillion pieces, quitting, failing, having a breakdown, useless, hopeless, etc. The Lord is holding me up! The Lord is loving and comforting me! The Lord is helping and strengthening me! The Lord is enabling me to press on! The Lord in His awesomeness and amazingness is sustaining me! He is giving me all I need in Him to carry on loving and serving Him with all my heart and fulfilling my life calling for Him! Glory be to the Lord!
Feeling overwhelmed, weary, stressed out, overloaded, like giving up, like if you start crying you will never stop, like you won’t make it, like you’re facing the impossible, all alone, desperate, etc.?
Call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ! Cry out to God! Pour your heart out to Him! Find shelter in Him! Open the Bible and read it! Pray and pray and pray! Don’t give up! Don’t fall down! Call upon God to hold you up! Amen!
“Unless the LORD had been my help, My soul would soon have settled in silence. If I say, “My foot slips,” Your mercy, O LORD, will hold me up. In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.” Psalms 94:17-19 NKJV
“Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me.” Psalms 63:7-8 NKJV
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’” Isaiah 41:10 NKJV
