latest GOOD NEWS DAILY – May 27

Dear friend,

“I think it’s a fabulous idea, Father,” I told the Lord. I had been daydreaming about a “fabulous” idea a loved one had planted in my mind which in all honesty seemed a lot easier and more comfortable than the Lord’s plan for me. His will seemed challenging to say the least.

So why not tell the Lord how “fabulous” I thought the idea was that did NOT line up with His plan?

He didn’t have to speak a word to my heart. His Spirit who lives inside His followers brought immediate conviction.

The Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay our sin penalty and was raised from the dead so all who turn from their lifestyle of sin to Christ as Lord, truly turning their lives over to Him, are forgiven and given a forever relationship with the Lord.

We are to no longer live for ourselves according to our own “fabulous” plans but to live for the Lord Jesus Christ according to God’s glorious ways and plans for His ultimate glory!

And when He shows us our “fabulous” plans don’t line up with His will, we need to submit ourselves to Him, let them go, and fulfill His will instead.

I encourage you to submit yourself entirely to the Lord Jesus Christ – no matter the cost to your flesh. Even when that means letting go of your “fabulous” plans.

In His love,

The Big Paralyzed Dog Crash

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

“Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.” Romans 6:16-18

“Now you went the wrong way!” I exclaimed to paralyzed dog Miss Mercy as soon as she growled because she had crashed into paralyzed dog Mr. Simeon on their gigantic dog bed they share with 14-year-old special needs doggy Abigail and 7-year-old disabled-from-a-car-accident doggy Gracie.

Why had the dogs crashed into each other? And why was I scolding Miss Mercy for causing the crash she easily could have avoided? They are both paralyzed, but Miss Mercy can scoot around on her knees. Mr. Simeon needs help going anywhere more than the few inches he can slowly drag himself. I had led Miss Mercy out of the way where I was about to move Mr. Simeon, but she had gone against my leading – stubbornly – and gone the wrong way. Right to the very place I was moving Mr. Simeon. So they crashed!

Know what happens when we go against the loving leading of the Lord? When we sin against Him? We “crash”. We reap the consequences of sin, and sin’s consequences are never good.

Miss Mercy could have avoided her little “crash”. So can we avoid the “crashes” we have when we don’t humbly lovingly faithfully follow Jesus.

We need to submit to the Lord’s wise loving leading, don’t we? Yes!

A Special Prayer

“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.” Gal. 5:6

Know what I prayed with a beloved friend this morning? Essentially this.

“Lord, help us to trust in you today. Help us to walk by faith today. Help us to walk in your love today. Help us to be thankful today.”

No sooner had I finished praying those words than I realized the strong message in them.

This is how we are called to live when we follow Jesus, dear friend. We are to TRUST IN CHRIST. We are to LIVE BY FAITH IN CHRIST. We are to LOVE WITH THE LOVE OF CHRIST. And we are to have THANKFUL HEARTS.

Can you imagine if we lived day in and day out like this? Trusting Him, having faith in Him, loving like Him, and being ever thankful to Him?

I aspire to this. Do you? This is what the Bible teaches, doesn’t it?

May we love the Lord with all our hearts and others as ourselves. God’s greatest commands. And, in so doing, may we live by faith and be thankful for the Lord each and every day!

Let It Go!

“But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:

“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…” James 4:6-8

“What did I ask you to do? Did I ask you to let this go?” the Spirit of God spoke to my heart one day. I can’t even remember what it was He wanted me to let go. I only recall it’s something He wanted me to let go.

And I am reminded of this. When we hold onto what the Lord wants us to let go, we are in disobedience. We are resisting Him. We are rebelling against Him. And not only do we reap the consequences of our disobedience, whatever they may be, but we damage our intimacy with Christ. What a terrible, terrible consequence this is in and of itself!

For how can we draw closer and closer to the Lord when we are going against Him? We can’t! Obedience to Christ is a wide open door to wonderful, ever-deepening intimacy with Him, isn’t it? When we are disobedient, we are creating division, aren’t we? Oh, and what we miss when we miss intimacy with Jesus!

Let us yield ourselves utterly to Christ, no matter the cost to our flesh, and draw ever closer to Him with thankful hearts. Amen!

A Fireman, the Homeless, and a Police Officer

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” James 3:16

When I looked back at my day today, I realized I had given Gospel tracts to a fireman, a homeless person, a police officer, and a couple sitting on a park bench. They may have different stories. Different jobs. Different circumstances. Different incomes or none at all. Different challenges. Different appearances. But they are all human beings in need of the Lord Jesus Christ for the promise of everlasting life with God instead of forever in hell and the lake of fire apart from God.

When we serve the Lord, we can choose to serve only those we desire to serve. Or we can serve those to whom the Lord sends us. Let us surrender ourselves entirely to Christ and go where He sends us, serve whom He sends us to serve, and realize in God’s eyes they are all humans He created all in need of Him for eternal life. Let us not pick and choose whom to serve. Let’s let the Lord do the choosing!

And let us remember we ALL need Jesus.

I’m finally starting to get some rest and so very thankful for it. I’m excited to move forward with more writing and to see how the Lord leads me in sending me back into New York City. The devil is still trying hard to convince me to run the other way – to somewhere easy, comfortable, and secure. But I am too in love with the Lord to run. I want to go where He wants me to go and to do what He wants me to do in my love for Him. He is Lord! He has convinced me I still need much rest to be ready to go to my next location as I remain in my hotel room in New Jersey going through the preparation process.

On a different note, I praise the Lord God almighty my beautiful beloved co-laborer in Christ in less than a week printed 2500 Freedom Devotional magazines to be sent to prisoners all around the United States. She still needs to fold and staple them and ship them, but she has gotten off to a phenomenal start.

We still could use some serious help with preparing them and some serious help in financial support as the Lord greatly grows the ministry, and I am learning day by day to trust the Lord to provide for this ministry of His that His name may be glorified, His Kingdom to welcome more followers, and those already in His Kingdom to be loved and encouraged as the Lord reaches lives worldwide through this ministry of His!

Please pray, pray, and pray as the Lord leads you!!!

With love in Christ,
