TODAY’S LITTLE LETTER FROM LARA

Dear friend,

Just when I had convinced myself there couldn’t possibly be anything positive about the trial I’m going through, and the battle in which I’m entrenched, the Lord showed me He is growing me and bringing correction in the midst of it – and sent me a woman in need whereby He is reminding me He can use us to help others through the life experiences He gives us and sometimes even while we’re still in the midst of our trials. If you’re facing a trial, and in the midst of a battle, please don’t think God doesn’t have a purpose in it. Is He growing you? Is He bringing correction? Is He refining you? Drawing you closer to Himself? Making you more like Himself? Is He giving you opportunities to help others through your current and/or past experiences – maybe even right in the midst of your trial?

Please don’t miss God’s purpose. Seek His face. Read the Bible. Hear Him speak to your heart. Yield yourself totally to Him. Grow in His image. And don’t miss your opportunities to help others as He leads you.

With Christ’s love for you,

lara

TODAY’S DAILY INSPIRATION

Who Is on the Battlefield With You?

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” John 13:34

Right in the thick of the battle, I am right now, and I could not be more thankful for the Lord my commander-in-chief, for the battle plan for victory which is the Bible, for the strength and wisdom with which He fills me via His Spirit who lives inside His followers – and for my fellow soldiers on the battlefield. Friend, we were not designed to fight our battles alone. God has given us all we need for victory – in Christ!

Today, no matter where I am, as I travel around the US being on the road for Jesus full-time for several years now, I stay exceedingly strongly connected to Christ – and to my fellow soldiers. Who are the soldiers in my life? Christ’s soldiers. Women of faith who are deeply devoted Christ followers, who assemble regularly with other Christ followers, who study and live by the Bible, and who are available 24-7 to love me, encourage me, pray for me, confront me in love, and help me to live by God’s Spirit according to God’s Word. Just as God uses me to do the same in their lives.

Our fellow soldiers are never to be more important in our hearts and lives than Jesus, but they are given to us by the Lord to walk and live and fight by our sides.

I am blessed to have an ever-growing group of them for the Lord is continually introducing me to new sisters in the Lord near and far. We all have three things in common.

We belong to God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, we all have our battles as we go through this life, and we are all given the love of Christ to love Him in return and to love others – including one another – as ourselves.

Who is on the battlefield with you? Is your commander in chief the Lord Jesus Christ? Have you opened your heart and life to the soldiers He has chosen for you? May it be so!

TODAY’S 365 BLESSINGS

365 BLESSINGS is a devotional book the Lord has led me to publish piece by piece even as I’m writing it rather than waiting until it’s in print to share it. Please join me & be blessed as I write my latest book…!

Blessing #44

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

It is IMPOSSIBLE that we as humans who are all sinners can have a relationship with God now or ever no matter our good efforts and good deeds because our sins separate us from God who is perfectly holy, righteous, and true – with ONE EXCEPTION. Jesus is Lord and died on the cross to pay our sin penalty so we who turn from our sins and place our faith in Him as Lord, truly devoting our lives to God and His ways, are forgiven and given a forever relationship with God. How? THROUGH JESUS. He is the ONLY WAY to forever fellowship with God. Jesus is the truth! Jesus is the life! And Jesus is the ONLY WAY! What an indescribably wonderful life-giving, life-changing, life-affirming, awesomely amazing blessing! God loves us so much He sacrificed His Son Jesus for us! To be THE WAY to Himself! Jesus is our bridge to God! Our pathway to God! Our highway to God! Our ONLY WAY to God! Let us celebrate today and always Jesus who is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE. THE TRUTH is EVERLASTING LIFE can only come through THE WAY OF CHRIST! And God has given us Jesus so we can be the Lord’s forevermore! Are you HIS forevermore?

TODAY’S THE CROSS DEVOTIONAL

The State of Your Heart

““Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

“Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

“Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.” Matthew 6:1-18

It took me years, quite honestly, to see in the scriptures above something I had missed for so very long. The Lord DOES want us to GIVE AND SERVE, to PRAY, to FORGIVE, and to FAST, but there is something He does NOT want us to do when it comes to all this. And what it boils down to is this. The state of our hearts.

In the verses above, the Lord makes clear He does not want us to live our lives based on outward appearances in order that we draw attention to ourselves, take the glory ourselves, look good in other people’s eyes, please people, look perfect, get pats on our backs and praises from others, etc. He wants us to lovingly humbly love and serve Him and others with a heart above all else to love and honor and obey and worship Him now and forever.

Please read through the verses above and see who the hypocrites were and are. They are those who do the right thing on the outside for the purpose of looking good to the world, not for the purpose of loving and serving Christ and others. Their hearts are not right!

God’s greatest commands are to love Him with all our hearts and to love others as ourselves. Giving and serving, praying, forgiving, and fasting should only be done in the context of loving and serving God and others – with humble hearts adoring of Christ, AMEN!

TODAY’S SERVING JESUS IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE

Godly Giving

“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”” Luke 6:38

One thing I’ve noticed when it comes to numerous churches in America these days is that some churches seem to be very strong in teaching the Bible while very few people get out of the pews and outside the church walls to serve a hurting, lost, and dying world in dire need of Christ, while other churches seem to be very strong in getting out of the pews and outside the church walls and serving a world in need – without the rock solid foundation of strong Bible teaching and bringing that teaching to those the congregation serves.

This world needs the Lord Jesus Christ above all else, and this means we need to share the Gospel message with people and help them to find and follow the Lord Jesus Christ. We need to proclaim Christ and help people to live according to the Bible. And this should be first and foremost in our service work in the world outside the church building.

We can do all the service work in the world like building houses, feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, providing free medical care, providing companionship, delivering meals to the home-bound, etc., but our highest priority in doing so should be to help the people we’re serving to know about Jesus and to receive help in turning from a lifestyle of sin to a lifestyle of loving, worshiping, and obeying God.

On the other hand, we can do all the preaching Christ in the world – without helping people with their physical needs.

Should we not do both? Yes!

Let us proclaim Jesus to the world – and serve with our hands, hearts, time, compassion, and giving as we do.

Let us serve people in our everyday lives – in the name and for the glory of Christ, AMEN!

LATEST MINISTRY UPDATE & PRAYER REQUEST

The Lord has made it clear despite the trial I’ve been undergoing, and how exhausted I have been, that I have some writing to do! Not to mention preparation work for when He moves me from my hotel in New Jersey back to New York City for a season of streets ministry there. My flesh wouldn’t mind crawling under the covers of my bed which has very little room for myself as it’s mostly used as my storage unit since I’m on the road full-time for Him and coming out from under the covers when my current trial is over, but I love the Lord too much to hide from Him, from His work in me, and from His work through me. For I am entirely His.

Please pray for me and this ministry and the ministry’s four special needs service doggies as the Lord leads you – and as He leads me forward in life and ministry. Oh, sure, I need lots of rest right now and may in fact spend some time under the covers resting up for where He is leading me next, but I still have plenty to do outside of rest as I press on in the Lord’s work. Truth is I’m not one to do too much resting under the covers; a little bit more of it right now would actually be a good thing as He prepares me to move forward!

thank you for praying!

love in Christ,

lara
