“If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.” John 12:26…….

When it comes to serving Jesus in our everyday lives, there are two opportunities for service we have day by day that are more important than any others:

* Spending time alone at the feet of the Lord loving Him, praying to Him, seeking Him, worshiping Him, reading the Bible, learning from Him, learning of Him, enjoying Him, listening for His Spirit speaking to our hearts which is always in line with the Bible, growing in His image, being thankful for time in His presence.

* Telling others the Gospel message that the only way to a forever relationship with the Lord instead of forever in hell and the lake of fire is by receiving Christ as Lord. This we do when we turn from our sins, believe Jesus died on the cross to pay our sin punishment and was raised from the dead, and truly commit our lives to God and His ways with the fruit thereafter of lives dedicated to Christ. This is the Gospel message. The Good News.

We can, and should, serve the Lord day by day however He desires whether it’s baking brownies to take to a nursing home where we hold a church service, teaching a youth group, doing missionary work in Africa, helping special needs adults as we teach them about Jesus, helping homeless people apply for jobs as we meet with them and pray for them, etc.

Serving Jesus day by day is about what HE desires we do to serve Him. But always at the top of the list should be spending time in His presence and telling the world about Him!

How are you in these two areas?
