“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:26-27……..

“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,” 1 Tim. 2:1-3

I was sitting on a bench on a quiet sunny Sunday by the river at my hotel feeling sad and discouraged when I sent a message to a sister in the Lord asking her to pray. I gave her no information, no subject, no details.

Immediately she messaged me back. Fewer words than my own. None at all, in fact. Just a tiny image of two hands folded together praying.

What a beautiful friend. The Holy Spirit who lives inside Jesus’ followers would lead her in prayer. He knows my heart.

What a simple, loving, humble, and beautiful way to love and serve one another at any time of day or night. Oh, let us pray for one another! For friends! For strangers! For anyone! For everyone! For whomever the Lord desires we pray!

Let us pray! Even when we don’t know the exact nature of someone’s heart and needs, the Holy Spirit does! We can trust Him to lead us in prayer.

Yes, let us pray! In love and service to Jesus. In love and service to one another! In the love of the Lord Jesus Christ! Pray, pray, let us pray!
