“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. ” John 17:3
“and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” 2 Cor. 5:15
I never wanted the life I have today. Being on the road for Jesus with 5 special needs dogs doing streets ministry and writing and publishing Gospel tracts, devotionals, and books far away from loved ones with no semblance of a social life on a bare-bones budget with a car with about 250,000 miles on it with no staff and thankfully with the part-time long-distance help of two beloved friends but nowhere near the amount of help I feel I need is NOT the life I dreamed of having. Not in the least.
I know a woman who constantly uses the word “fabulous” to describe how great she feels and how pleased she is with her life. What an amazing surprise I had one day when I realized that fabulous is exactly the word I would use to describe my life today. Yes, I, who have lost almost everything and everyone I ever wanted and not gotten most of what and whom I ever wanted, can honestly say I have a fabulous life. But how can this be?
My personal intimate ever-growing forever relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ for whom I live and breathe and the knowledge that I get to be in His presence now and everlastingly and the privilege of living my life to love and glorify the Lord and to tell the world about Him so far surpasses anything I could ever dreamed of having and living in the way of personal dreams and desires on this earth that I wouldn’t go back to the way I was living and for what I was living for anything in the world. For decades, I lived for self according to the world’s ways. Now I have forsaken all for Jesus and live according to God’s ways.
There is simply no comparison between living for the worldly pleasures and treasures of this life to please myself and living to love and worship and serve and obey God forever. What a fabulous, fabulous – FOREVER in Christ – life!
Got everlasting life? There’s only one way. Got a fabulous forever life? Here’s how. Turn from your sins. Believe Jesus is Lord and died on the cross to pay your sin penalty and was raised from the dead. COMMIT YOUR LIFE UTTERLY TO CHRIST. Give yourself TOTALLY TO JESUS. Stop living to please yourself.
Live for Jesus. Live to love and glorify God forever. Knowing Jesus personally and forever and the fabulous life in Christ you will discover and experience when you truly SURRENDER ALL to Jesus and live to love and serve and glorify God may be exceedingly hard as far as what it feels like to deny self and to die to self but will I believe be beyond your wildest dreams.
Fabulous, so fabulous, so exceedingly fabulous is the life lived for Christ, AMEN!
