NOW Is the Time to Forgive

Forgiveness is not something to be postponed. It’s not something to do when we feel like it. When we want to forgive. When we feel better about someone. When time has passed and we don’t hurt so much. When we think differently about the person who betrayed us. Forgiveness isn’t to come when we’ve had time to work through all our emotions about what happened. Forgiveness doesn’t have an appointed time in the future. NOW is the time to forgive. Here is why.

God’s greatest commands are to love Him with all our hearts and to love one another. And God commands us to forgive. Not only that, but He makes clear He will not forgive us if we do not forgive others. Forgiveness is not to be contingent on this, that, or the other i.e. our circumstances, thoughts, and feelings. Forgiveness is to be contingent on the Lord Jesus Christ.

And lest you think it’s impossible to forgive someone, rest assured God gives us all we need – strength included – to live a godly life.

Please, friend, obey God almighty. Turn from your sins. Believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and that He died for your sins and was raised from the dead. Turn to God and His ways. Live henceforth for Jesus and no longer for self. Live according to God’s ways not the world’s ways. Love the Lord with every ounce of your heart. Be totally devoted to the Lord now and forever. Love others as yourself. And don’t wait another minute. Forgive. Forgive, forgive, forgive. In the strength of Jesus, for the glory of Jesus, AMEN!

“And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:12-15 NKJV

“as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,” 2 Peter 1:3 NKJV

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 NKJV
