Our ultimate trust is to be placed in the Lord, friend. Not in this world. Not in ourselves. Not in others. Not in people, places, or things. It is to be in the Lord Jesus Christ alone. We are to put our ultimate confidence, our ultimate expectation, and our ultimate hope IN THE LORD.
Nothing and nobody in this world are perfect and without fail. Everything in this world is temporary and capable of falling short. And so it is we will be let down, disappointed, hurt, broken, etc. if we put our ultimate trust, confidence, expectation, and hope in this life. In people, places, and things. In this world.
Is your ultimate trust IN THE LORD? In HIS WORD? In HIS PROMISES? In HIS FAITHFULNESS? In HIS GOODNESS? In HIS AWESOMENESS? In HIS WAYS? In HIS WILL? In HIS LOVE? In HIS MERCY? In HIS GRACE? In HIS FELLOWSHIP? In HIS FORGIVENESS? In HIS PEACE? In HIS REFUGE? In HIM?
I smile even as I write this! At the reminder of how supremely blessed it is to TRUST IN THE LORD AT ALL TIMES IN ALL THINGS!
Oh, how easy it is to find ourselves placing our ultimate trust, confidence, expectation, and hope in what we can see right in front of us. In this world and the ways of this world. In ourselves. In our loved ones. In what we can touch, taste, see, feel, and hear in this life. But oh, how let down we will be, how devastated we will find ourselves if we throw ourselves at the mercy of this life. Of this world.
Let us turn, turn, turn to the Lord. Let us turn, turn, turn to the Bible. Let us throw ourselves at the feet of Jesus. Let us consciously, actively, concretely, decisively, and continually PUT OUR TRUST IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST now and forevermore, AMEN!
Father, the enemy tried to stop this message. How relieved I am that you gave me the strength to write it. Please dear Father help us to learn to put our trust in you step by step, breath by breath, moment by moment. Help us to put our trust IN YOU. And when we fall short, and when we forget, or when we are afraid, whatever the reason, when we do not trust you, lead us to repentance and cause us to PUT OUR TRUST back where it belongs, dear Lord. IN YOU, precious Savior, in you precious Father, AMEN!
“This is what the LORD says:
“Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind,
who makes the flesh his strength
and turns his heart from the LORD.
He will be like a shrub in the desert;
he will not see when prosperity comes.
He will dwell in the parched places of the desert,
in a salt land where no one lives.
But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
whose confidence is in Him.
He is like a tree planted by the waters
that sends out its roots toward the stream.
It does not fear when the heat comes,
and its leaves are always green.
It does not worry in a year of drought,
nor does it cease to produce fruit.” Jeremiah 17:5-8
“And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.”
