When I go out without my ministry dogs who do beach and streets ministry with me at times, Gracie who was hit by 2 cars after being dumped at a gas station years ago stays in a crate. Paralyzed Miss Mercy who was likely hit by a truck years ago can choose between two massive super comfy dog beds. No matter how long I am gone, however, when I return I almost always find Miss Mercy on the immediate opposite side of the bedroom door perched on her knees eagerly waiting for my return.
Her love, focus, attention, hope, expectation, excitement, and thankfulness are fixed solely and wholly and humbly and sweetly and devotedly on me as though there is nothing more important to her in the world than me and her greeting me. She knows all she needs and wants will come through my heart, hands, and life – originating from God of course. She waits on me with total trust and joyfully expresses her thanksgiving. Greeting me with the utmost rejoicing!
For the 10 years since she was left paralyzed and brought to a shelter, she has dragged her body behind her or hauled around her wheelchair to give her the ability to walk. But oh how content and joyful and thankful and eager she is to enjoy her life to the fullest. She is totally dependent on me and fully focused on me to live the life she has been given and fully believes I will give her all she needs each and every day and night.
What an inspiration my beloved paralyzed Miss Mercy is! If only we would all look to the Lord with such humility, love, devotion, desire, hope, expectation, trust, faith, focus, joy, and thanksgiving and rejoicing!
Will you cry out to the Lord this very day to help you be totally devoted to Him for the rest of your life and forevermore? Will you pray with all your heart to have the relationship with Him He desires you to have? And for all else you need and desire, will you cry out to God for His perfect will and provision? Oh, let us pray! Amen!
“Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty firmament! Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness! Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the lute and harp! Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes! Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!” Psalms 150:1-6 NKJV
