Perfect Patience

The last thing in the world I have is perfect patience! Patience is one of my weak areas when it comes to bearing the fruit of God’s Holy Spirit. But the love of my life has perfect patience and is the most wonderfully perfectly patient person in the universe, and I am so sorry I have taken this for granted for so very long and not expressed my thanksgiving for this truth.

The love of my life, the Lord God almighty, has been unfathomably patient with the world at large and with me personally through my years of believing in and following Him. One morning I started thinking about His patience with me and realized ashamedly how exceedingly far short I had fallen in recognizing, acknowledging, and expressing thanksgiving to Him for His love, patience, and mercy.

The Lord is referred to in the Bible with so many aspects of His character including these:

“Now the God of patience…” Romans 15:5

“…God of love…” 2 Corinthians 13:11

The Lord has been astonishingly incredibly marvelously and blessedly loving and merciful and patient with me in my imperfect walk with Him down His pathway of righteousness.

“He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”
Psalms 23:3

He has led me to repentance and forgiven me over and again as He grows me, purifies me, refines me, purifies me, and teaches me to walk worthy of His calling me into His forever fellowship.

“I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation [also calling per Strong’s concordance]wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering [also patience per Strong’s concordance], forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:1-3

Friend, do you ever consider the love, mercy, and patience of the Lord in your own life? Do you praise Him for this? Do you share this with others that they would through your life see the awesomely wonderful love, mercy, and patience of the Lord and see the need to repent and turn to Him?

I am led in considering this to be more dedicated in thanking the Lord for ALL His blessings including the spiritual ones like His patience AND to be more diligent in learning to be more patient myself.

Praise the Lord for His patience! For His love! For His mercy! For His awesomeness! Praise, praise, praise, oh praise the Lord! Amen!

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering [patience in some Bible versions], gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23
