“Go where I send you,” the Holy Spirit told me early one Sunday morning. “Not where I don’t.”
I had been crying out to the Lord incredibly much in the days past concerning something very important, and that morning the Lord was beginning to answer my cries with wisdom and direction. And a strong warning. The warning I share with you now.
Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are to follow the Lord Jesus Christ, and this means we are to go where the Lord sends us – and to NOT go where the Lord does NOT send us.
Seems obvious, doesn’t it? But if we’re honest with ourselves, is it not true sometimes we follow the voice of the devil, or of the world, or of our flesh, and go where God does NOT send us?
Examples?
The devil tempts us to go commit adultery which is sin against God.
The world tells us it is okay to go get an abortion which is sin against God.
Our flesh convinces us to go get another job when God wants us to love and serve Him at the job to which He has sent us.
Please do NOT go where God does not send you. Please be careful. Please pray to God, read the Bible, learn to hear and recognize God’s voice, and follow Him lovingly, humbly, and faithfully. Go where God sends you! Not where He does not!
“But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.””” John 10:2-5 NKJV
