Talk about crazy advice from a friend. I had shared with a beloved friend how a loved one had hurt me for the umpteenth time over the years concerning the same old issue. But instead of my friend taking pity on me and telling me I should sever the relationship, seek vengeance, get rid of the person with a heart filled with hatred, hurt, and anger, etc., which is how the world would likely tell me to address my situation, my friend told me to pray harder! For myself, right? NO! My friend told me to pray harder for the person!
In this world’s eyes, that is pretty crazy advice, isn’t it? This world is all about self. But following the Lord Jesus Christ is about THE LORD and about OTHERS not about self. My friend’s advice went against the world’s ways. It was perfect advice when it comes to God’s ways. For her advice was about LOVE, MERCY, FORGIVENESS, and PRAYER.
God used my friend to remind me what I needed to do.
Love, be merciful, forgive, and PRAY HARDER.
Need to take this advice? Pour out your heart to God and receive His love and comfort, reach out to His followers for love, encouragement, comfort, and support, and when it comes to the person who keeps on hurting you, LOVE, BE MERCIFUL, FORGIVE, and if God is leading you to do so, PRAY HARDER! AMEN!
“”You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” Matthew 5:43-45 NKJV
“Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.” Luke 6:36 NKJV
