I don’t go to psychics. Okay, that is not entirely true. Sometimes God sends me to psychics, fortune tellers, palm readers, etc. kind of people to talk to them about Jesus and give them Gospel tracts. This time around, God sent a psychic to me. And here is the tragedy.
I crossed paths with a psychic in my life on the road for Jesus, and in the few minutes we chatted he noticed something very true about myself that I think most people wouldn’t notice. He was right. Now please understand this truth. Any of the practices I have just mentioned are part of countless practices worldwide that involve sin against God and worship of false gods and false beliefs. ALL of this needs to be repented of, and we all psychic or fortune teller etc. or not need to turn from our sins and turn to Jesus Christ as Lord, believe in His death and resurrection, and turn to God and His ways. This psychic simply took the time and paid enough attention and had the sensitivity to notice this particular thing about me.
So what is the tragedy? The psychic took the time to observe me and care and be sensitive and compassionate, whereas countless believers in Jesus myself included can fall very far short in taking the time in our busy lives to show love, compassion, care, kindness, and sensitivity to others. Many of us are simply too self-absorbed and too focused on our own plans and agendas each day to see our fellow humans as those needing love, kindness, help, compassion, support, and sensitivity.
Friend, I strive daily now to walk in the love of Jesus toward all – and to repent when I need to. Please join me. Please do the same.
“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.” 1 Corinthians 13:1-8 NKJV
